When is it safe to say that you are suicidal?....

Dear Horde KIng,

This past Novemeber i was "checked in" to a psychiatric hospita because my obsession with death and cutting led me to slice the shit out of my wrists arms and any visible veins.So i was put in that hellhole and they shoved prozac down my throat.Now the question is [ui still feel suicidal and i still wander over to knives from time to time to give myself the old sliceroo so is it safe to say that im still suicidal???

as far as im concerned, if you have the intent of killing yourself, then yes, by god yes, you are suicidal. if you just want to cut, then you are probably stuffing down another emotion. most people cut themselves because they are upset about something and they decided to take it out on themselves. and if you are still having these problems, you should seek further help.

Please, you need help! I know the feeling of suicide very much. I got help though through Prozac and hospitalization. Taking you own life is not worth anything to you or anyone!

I am ALWAYS suicidal .... I've never really told anyone .... except Horde King ... and once the other day in chat ...

I've given signs/hints to a lot of people that I need help, but no one has helped me ... so I must help myself ...

The slicing is a way of "easing" the pain .... I also like knives ...

If you actually have a plan about how you envision killing yourself, call a suicide prevention line right now.

There is a distinction to be sure between cutting and suicidal ideation. Similarly there is a distinction b/w thinking about death and feeling suicidal. From the tone of your post, you need to immediately see a therapist to sort this out.

Hordeekings got the facts. there are degrees of suicidility. but i think the deal is if you want to kill youself for more than one day, your suicidal. so you are, the degree of how much you are is debatable. but if you are suicidal at all get help, itll only get worse.

noone is a mind reader sweety, im sure plenty of people here would have tried to help you.... but you have to ask for the help first.. and yes you have to help yourself first and formost.... make a decision to change to start.

If people could just forget such things than there wouldn't be much suicide in the world. If i could just forget things, my body would not look like a blanket of scar tissue, but that is another story.

it is never "safe" to say that you are suicidal. Please go get help because suicide is just a permanent solution to a temporary problem
