So, what do Canadians have to be proud of?
Smarties, Crispy Crunch & Coffee Crisp.
The size of our footballs fields and one less Down.
Baseball is Canadian.
Lacrosse is Canadian.
Hockey is Canadian.
Basketball is Canadian.

Apple pie is Canadian.
Mr. Dress-up kicks Mr. Rogers ass.
Tim Hortons kicks Dunkin' Donuts as
In the war of 1812, started by America, Canadians
pushed the Americans back...past their 'White House'.
Then we burned it... and most of Washington, under the
command of William Lyon McKenzie who was insane and
hammered all the time. We got bored because they ran
away, so we came home and partied.
Canada has the largest French population that never surrendered to Germany.
We have the largest English population that never ever
surrendered or withdrew during any war to anyone,
anywhere.
Our civil war was a bar fight that lasted a little
over an hour.
The only person who was arrested in our civil war was
an American mercenary, who slept in and missed the
whole thing...but showed up just in time to get
caught.
We knew plaid was cool far before Seattle caught on.
The Hudsons Bay Company once owned over 10% of the
earth's surface and is still around as the worlds oldest company.
The average dog sled team can kill and devour a full grown human in under 3 minutes. We still know what to do with all the parts of a buffalo.
We don't marry our kin-folk.
We invented ski-doos, jet-skis, velcro, zippers,
insulin, penicillin, zambonis, the telephone and short
wave radios that save countless lives each year.
We kicked America's ass in Hockey not once but TWICE in the Olympics and they are still licking their loud mouth wounds.
We ALL have frozen our tongues to something metal and lived to tell about it.

BUT MOST IMPORTANT!
....the handles on our beer cases are big enough to
fit your hands with mitts on.
OOOOOO CAAANADAAA !!!

At least we came to our senses about that whole plaid thing.

Oh, Heckler, dear, It has been less than two weeks!! I'll be home, soon. I promise!
...and Guess what? As much as I LOVE Canada, I am going for my U.S. Citizenship. This is ALL FOR YOU, honey. My question is this: Does this mean I'll also become Norwegian? (Go ahead, insert your own joke HERE! ) I have missed you, and the large thug you have following my every move here is rather disconcerting - I mean, er..Heh Heh - Most comforting! So, thanks.

(1). Coffee Crisp chocolate bars are pure heavenly goodness..I'll bring some back for you...

(2). Lacrosse (not Hockey ) is Canada's 'National' sport , which comes as a huge surprise to most.. (even to some Canadians! ) Hockey still dominates, of course.

(3). Canadians don't say, "Canadian Bacon", or even "American Cheese"...(there are TOO many differences to list, here )

(4). Mr. Dressup was a childhood favourite! He put my drawings on his wonderful show, when I was about 4 years old. I felt like such a star! To this day, I still correspond with his family.

(5). Most importantly, I was REALLY moved by the intense response to the '9/11' documentary, and the various emotions that surfaced during the show. Most of the Vancouver friends and family I am visiting have worked extensively in NYC, and travel there frequently..

Those who have never had the blessing of seeing the beautiful city I am proud to call 'home', were still devastated - emotions were heightened anyway - They are very informed and truly not quite as 'removed' from it as I thought they might be. We talked and cried about this, since I am staying with a friend who lived near the South Street Seaport almost her whole life.

Anyway, I miss home..but I thought I'd give you a little insight on my experience concerning the documentary...

Sorry Quinny, but I stopped marrying immigrants for citizenship long ago. :)
BTW, I remember Tim Horton when he played for the Rangers. I'm old.

Uhhh.... Alexander Graham Bell was Scottish, not Canadian. Velcro was invented by a Swiss inventor named George de Mestral.

Heckler, I didn't mean to imply that I am the elusive 'Canadian friend' who sent you the email that began this thread.
Oh, by the way..Fez's fiance wants to know if the bridesmaid dresses should be a teal colour. I think it will clash with the flowers, but, HEY!..It's THEIR wedding.
