"Tripping" Dreams

i often have this dream - or sometimes its not even a dream, just a feeling - that i'm walking down the sidewalk and i trip. it usually happens when i'm half asleep and half awake. i feel my body shake, but i didn't think it was all that bad. i was talking about it with my boyfriend last night, and he described it as a single violent body spasm.

my question, what's going on and what's it all mean - if anything.

i have no idea what it means, but sometimes i have the same feeling. juat as i'm about ready to enter rem sleep. usually, i feel like i'm falling. it is very errie. i think my fiancee told me once that i do it almost every night before i go completely to sleep.

Two things occur to me. The stage of sleep you're in is often the time when seizures occur. If your body truly is spasming you need to see a nuerologist. Seizures can be treated very effectively with medication such as trillisate or kepra or gabitril.

From a pyschological perspecitive, tripping is akin to falling which may represent a situation in which you feel you have no control or are losing control.

what do you think of this one...

there are few dreams I remember, but this one has always remained with me...

I'm standing on a very high cliff with my brother and Dad and there is a river below... As i look across to the cliff on the other side there is a pure white castle, it has several high towers and there is a hazy white glow all around it...
we decided to jump and as I was falling I could feel the wind against my face, it seemed to last for minutes before I hit the water... After I hit the water and was descending I could feel the water on my body, and especially my face... As I continued to descend I started to worry about not having enough breath to make it back to the surface... i pushed and pushed and was able to make it... next thing I know I've swam into an underground cave and was lying halfway in the water and halfway on ground... there was a desk and a light and three German soldiers entered through a door into the cave and gathered around the table...
i was very much exposed but they did not see me, and that's it...

thanks to anyone who read through this...

I never thought about my Dad or brother in the dream after I hit the water...
