The reason I listen to Don & Mike

I hate when people call up D&M and trash them. Not because they don't deserve it, but because the caller never has a good answer for the " why do you listen
?" question. Recently someone called up and Don said that there's a hundred stations in NY and wanted to know why the caller was listening to thier show if they sucked so bad. here's why I listen:

1) Eliminate 50 station because I don't speak spanish.

2)Eliminate 47 more because I don't speak ebonics, or spell it correctly

3) Eliminate K-Rock because I'm sick of hearing Creed.

4) Now I split my time during the D&M show and the Q.

Please if anyone calls to trash them, don't let them win the argument

Gee I dont understand I thought everyone likes hear My Sacrifice every half an hour???? YUCH!!!! KROCK STINKS!

In any case I dont listen to Don and Mike cause I dont think they are funny. Yes Ive listened before, and I just dont see th humpr behind them. I think Mianly becuase there top Demo is like 30-50 or something. The only time you will find me listening to them is around 2:30 to hear Buzz do the news

i agree that is the best part of the show... probably the best humor of the show comes out at that time...

i started listening to don & mike about 3 years ago. i was a big fan of howard's show and hated that my supervisor at work listened to d&m. i only caught their show once in a while and couldn't get into it. since then rock radio has gotten progressivley worse, so i gave it a shot. i listened to one whole show and found some stuff funny. so i continued listening. after a few weeks i found my opinion completely changed. i listen to them all the time.

i know how one wouldn't like them if they have only heard a few snippets.

I listen because I got tired of slamming my sack in the car door to occupy the radio gap in the day between 11 and 3. That and I want so badly for one of them to die of brain cancer while the other one commits sucide because his wife left him and everyone of his impressions sound like Bob Barker getting an enima.

I do like the low budget Jeopardy only because Mike does good impressions of Regis, T Soprano, James Garner etc. That is the only time Mike is funny. I am really staring to hate that show.......but it's the only thing on!!!!!!!!!

I like D&M, I like O&A and I like Ron and Fez. I have no allegiance to one show over the other. If I like different TV shows, I can also like different radio shows.

But dammit -- we need Ron and Fez LIVE in DC!

Of yeah one other reson I have tuned into D&M, to hear that hot Lea Remini on the show. That's about it well, that and Buzz' news anyway.

In any case I dont listen to Don and Mike cause I dont think they are funny Neither do I. But I wouldn't call just to trash them, I just keep my radio off. In fact, I don't listen to Ferrall anymore either. When the Chick was on WNEW, I listened to it from morning til night, no question. Now it's not worth listening to outside of O&A and R&F. Of course the Chick's ratings were bad - who listens to non-sports talk radio in late morning/early afternoon? Offices play music. Did Ken Stevens really think Don and Mike would really do any better? What a dope. <P>

So many things to cover here...

Ken Stevens kept Don & Mike over the Chick because the Chick overestimated her value to the station <no offense to her, but she didn't fit with the male mindset of the station>, and for the fact that Don & Mike are a proven commodity in many markets, which the Chick was not.

Don & Mike cater to an older, 35 to 54, group...therefore, they find Elvis a lot more entertaining than the average 18 to 35 year old <in general>...but there are good things about the show:

1-Low Budget Jeopardy: by far the best weekly bit
2-Buzz Burbank: The heart and soul of this show...no Buzz and even I wouldn't listen
3-They honestly try to put on a good show. Howard doesn't care. At least they do.
4-Leah Remini- 'Nuff said.

But with the positive comes the negative:
1-Mike's impressions: if Anthony does them, Mike shouldn't...he just sounds foolish.
2-Don's family: who cares what Frieda thinks? What a tool.
3-Their own minds: they think they're legends for making it to number one in markets that barely have indoor plumbing and electricity.

That said, I listen...I'd rather hear O&A or R&F, but it's better than "Jenny Jones".

mr bungle this is wierd. first off all I bet me and you are the only 2 people on this board that even heard of mr bungle, the band. isnt the guy from....um.......faith no more the singer from mr bungle????? anyway we were both at the ST/DANZIG/ Metallica show and now you live right next door to me in fabulous Lynbrook L.I.

Jesus I heard Mike do a Tom Brokaw impression yesterday and I was actually disgusted that he tried to do an Anthony impression............and ontop of that it was'nt half as good as Anthony does it.
