Why does rejection hurt so much? :-( Any type of rejection ... but especially, someone you like/love ...

I know this is supposed to go to the Horde King but I wanted to help too. It hurts becaue you do care about this person. If you didn't care about them it wouldn't matter to you at all how they felt. Because you care about them and their feelings towards you it hurts like heck when they don't have reciprical feelings. Rest a sure though, things happen for a reason. Maybe this person wasn't right for you or maybe you are supposed to meet someone better than you very soon. I know it hurts though an my words prob won't help. Just try to surround yourself with people you like an things you like an try to smile.

UDQT - Feel free to jump in anytime. Many people have good insights that are helpful.

CHRISTY - The more you love someone, the more you open yourself to them, the greater their potential to hurt you. As mentioned above, if you don't care about someone their opinion is easy to discount. It's much more difficult to do this with someone you care about. In the latter case the rejection is felt on a much deeper level analagous to a personal rejection of you as a person.

I'm sorry you had this experience; unfortunately it seems to be one that most people go through at one point or another.

I agree with the above statements, it does suck when you get rejected. I guess in any kinda of rejection is because you already expected somethng more then you just get shot down and it sucks....hey christy (hug) to make you feel better
