HK, I wonder how is it possible for a person to be born with two different colored eyes (ie: Mila Kunis of That 70s Show)? I didn't think it was possible.

I guess the most famous person I know of with two different eye colors is David Bowie.

What a freak!

Bowie had some head trama when he was a kid that caused his one eye to change color. I guess you could be born that way too, either way I think it looks cool as hell. I used to bash myself in the head to get my eye to change but it didnt work I just got stupider and my brown eyes just got darker.

My dads eyes change color. Some days their dark blue other days almost grey. Why could'nt I have inhertited something cool like that from my dad instead of alcoholism, damn i have issues.

One of my ex gfs was born with two differently colored eyes. One was blue the other was brown. Don't ask me about the science involved, but it was kinda cool to look at.

A fascinating question, and to my surprise a head trauma can indeed induce a change in eye color.
For the most part however, this extremely rare condition (called heterochromia iridium) is genetic. We are not yet sure which gene is linked to this condition and it most likely won't be a priority becasue it affects so few people and has no impact on their vision.
Surprisingly, some meication used to treat glaucoma has caused this condition to develop!
There are a few other similar conditions, but unlike this, they involve multiple different conditions, including such things as nuerological problems and deafness.
As far as eyes that change from striking blue to striking green overnight, look no further than the marketing success of Bausch and Lomb.

This is true that Bowie's eye color changed from a head trauma. The backstory, is that, when he was about 12 or 13 or so, he had a crush on another boy. Well, so did another boy. So they fought over him. Bowie lost. He was beaten so badly that his eye was swollen shut for a long period of time. When it healed, it was permanently dilated and a different color (see left eye in above picture).
I did an oral book report in freshman year of high school on Bowie's biography. It was fun explaining that story to a class that had no idea that he may have even been gay or bisexual.

i used to want purple contacts (i had, and still do, have a mild obsesion with Drizzt Do'Urden, from RA Salvatore's Dark Elf Series, an obscure reference if there ever was one)
as for the two different eyes, I had heard that yes, it is a genetic disorder, usually, but not always, the baby is born with pale blue eyes (the default eye color, ie. no pigment at all, like albinos) and only one of them gets pigment.
at least, this was according to my science professor. All beefs should go to him

That makes total sense. My dad was born with one brown eye and one blue eye. He is also deaf. His two brothers, one sister, and my one cousin also have the same thing. They are also deaf, except for my cousin. So it's most likely a genetic condition.
It's really cool when you look at my dad upclose, otherwise you really can't tell.

Holy shit I can't believe you mentioned that. PanterA is obsessed with R.A. Salvatore and he got me into it a couple years ago. I finished the Icewind Dale Trilogy and am now in the middle of The Dark Elf Trilogy. Yes, Drizzt is the man.

I had lunch with Elizabeth Berkley (Showgirls), and she also has two different color eyes. One is green and the other is like a weird yellow color. Very bizarre up close.
