this has always bothered me. ok, so some people are superstitious about the number 13 and so they don't want to be on the 13th floor in a building. i personally don't get this, but let's just grant for a moment that it's reasonable. so (like in the building where i work) they build this building and call the 13th floor of it 14, the 14th floor they call 15, etc. i just don't understand why someone who doens't like the idea of being on the 13th floor if you call it 13 would feel just fine about being on the 13th floor if you call it 14. IT'S STILL THE 13TH FLOOR! maybe i'm missing something but this just drives me insane. if anyone out there has an explanation, or if they are one of these people who feels like that, please please please explain it to me

Maybe because the arcitect of the building suffered from Triskaidekaphobia (fear of the number 13).

most airplanes don't have a 13th row, or at least, they call the 13th row 14.

Did you know back in the day, when they built skysrcapers, they made it so the 13th floor was vacant. There si some typew of story behind this that I herd and forgot

In vino veritas

There's a place in the world for the angry young man With his working class ties and his radical plansHe refuses to bend, he refuses to crawl,He's always at home with his back to the wall. And he's proud of his scars and the battles he's lost,And he struggles and bleeds as he hangs on the cross-And he likes to be knowns as the angry young man.

I work on the 13th floor of a building (relabeled as a 14th floor), but I have no qualms about it except in the event of fire.

Imagine telling them that you're on the 14th floor, so they put the ladder up to what seems to be the 14th floor from the outside, meaning they're hitting one floor above you....

see now, that at least makes some sort of sense to me. if you don't want to use the 13th floor for whatever reason, then don't use it. but dont just rename it and pretend like it's actually the 14th when we all know it's not. i guess they don't want to waste space like that anymore, but then they should just call it by its rightful name damn it

Forget all this 13th floor stuff...
How weird is it that you cannot get to the 9th floor in the 888 7th ave buliding by elevator?! You have to go to the 10th floor to get to the 9th floor!!! This still boggles my mind.

the store i work in is so retarded with the 13 stereotype, there isn't a 13th register (there is a 12 and a 12a, but it's still the 13th) yet they still have an aisle 13! i work for stupid people

It's not who you love, It's how.
