i was watching TLC today and there was a show on about the tombs of the pharohs of egypt and how different people have dug them up and taken everyhing out just to put them in a museum
dont you think its very disrespectful to go into someones tomb and steal things that dont belong to them
it really pisses me off that no one has any regard for the dead

I think that when the tomb raiding is done for archeological/historical purposes it's ok; when it's done for shits and giggles, profit etc it's disrespectful. Remember too that the pharoh's set themselves apart from the masses by all of the special procedures they had done to them for burial, therefore there may be somewhat of a moral justification to a more thorough examination of their remains. <P>

Isn't it educational to see and study these remnants of history? Should we also not disturb Dinosaur fossils? I think it aids in building and understanding our historical timeline. Plus as The Game said their dead and probably don't mind. Oh and I don't know about you but my favorite pharoh was Pharoh Fawcett.
Cake or Death? Uh, I'll have the cake please.

didn't you see the Aids south park amy? it's definantly been more then 22.3 years (or was it 20.3) so it's ok to be digging these guys up. and if they don't like it they can just put a curse on the archeologists

i have no problem with it being done in the interest of science.

Thanks Fallon!
it does have some scienctific purposes to dig up the tombs. but remember these people were left things in their tombs, so when thier spirits came back to rest in their dead bodies, they would have everything they needed for the afterlife. such as food, water, wine, hunny, gold, and so on. thats what they believed, and i think that it should be respected. people don't need to dig up every tomb. i think we already have enough mummies.

I think its ironic that all they talk about is preserve
preserve preserve meanwhile we are taking it out
of a habitat that we know can support it, into our
own air that wepollute- no matter how sterilized it
is- where we have no idea how long it will thrive. I
LOOOVVVEEE ancient egypt alot but im scared as to
whats gunna happen when all the sites are dug up
and what we have taken out has evaporated.

I love those shows, I think we should keep digging. I heard the secret of life is buried under the pyramids, we need to get down there.
