View Full Version : Is Eddy telling the truth?

I was listening to this weeks live show of Saturday Night Rocks and heard something that rose a brow and a question, were Ron and Fez lying?
Trunks made a joke about Earl not coming to the wedding while him Earl and Hardrock Johnny were looking through some pictures of Eddy's wedding. After a few comments of disgust about the way he looked in pictures, Eddy said that you shouldn't take everything on NEW seriously. He also said that he didn't know what people were talking about with the Ron and Fez beef, and that he and Ron and Fez were friends.
Now, was he lying in a backpedal attempt, or was he telling the truth? He also said that it made a great week of bit on the radio which really got me to wonder. So is it true? Were Ron and Fez really making up all the Eddy Trunks name dropping thing and the Jeremy's pissed about it thing as well? Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing Ron and Fez, but I am curious and I'd like to get this cleared up before others who heard begin to look at our favorite radio kings as fakes.

Since in your words it did, why don't you explain the situation to me instead of being sarcastic? It would help me and others who listened to that show.

Maybe sleepyeyed doesnt listen to or isnt able to listen to Opie and Anthony, but i'll explain as brief as i can:
Opie and Anthony were feuding with management and other radio shows. Thier show has been getting dumped out of when ever they mention Howard Stern and Don and Mike. Anthony from the show seemed to have had enough with getting dumped out of because of it and went on a 15 minute spree of just saying "Howard Stern Howard Stern, Don and Mike, Howard Stern, Don Geronimo, Howard Stern...." getting dumped out of constantly.
After the Opie and Anthony show, Ron and Fez parodied the situation using Eddie Trunk as the rival show. It was all a joke to bring some light in on the tense feelings the fans were having.
Man a joke really does sound lame when you have to explain it, but I know i was on the floor when they did it.

THANKS PANTERA!
I feel like a dumbass now though. Seriously, I didn't know simply because I didn't catch that installment of O&A. Once again Pantera, thank you for shining a light in my dim head.

Sorry Jynx...
I didn't mean to come off like an ass...I guess I shouldn't assume that everyone on this board listens to O&A.
PanterA to the rescue!

i don't think you had to listen to OA that day to understand what was going on...to get some of the jokes yes..but not to understand it was a joke..
however if you never listen to OA and know nothing about them then it would have went right over the head.
i have nothing witty to add.
So basically we should treat all the shows on WNEW as just...one...big...show?
Kinda like an improv technique known as the "Harold" where the entire show is made up of tiny "themes" that are often recapitulated throughout the show? Anyone else understand the "Harold"? (it was devised by Del Close and Charna Halpern from Improv Olympics in Chicago, and is now a standard form of improv all over the world)

It's like a big cross over show sometimes. I might not watch one of the other shows but I still think it's funny.
I forgot what I was talking about.
