i have a new poem.

I wear my innocence like armor
It is my shield from the cruelties that reality brings...
My innocence is a little girl
Always at my side
Questioning the harshness of humanity
Wondering how people could be so cruel...
She sees people as pure, made of love...
Yet there is destruction...
Hope is lost...
Innocence is forever lost in the world...
Yet the little girl always remains by my side...

wow! thats very very good. much better than any poetry i have ever written. and it makes you think about how our world has changed over the years. and how it seems to jade people no matter age.

nellie, I have one MAJOR problem with your poem.........your topic title.

Actually, I'm only half-serious. It's kinda cute that you're shy about your artistic talents, but being shy should not mean being feeling like sharing your talents is a burden on the board. You have no reason to feel you're annoying anyone. This board allows for freedom of expression as long as it's not cruel to others, which your poetry certainly isn't. If someone is annoyed, hopefully she or he will bite their tongue and just not read your poem.

BTW, I know I've told you before, but you have a wonderful way with words.
