Grand Theft Auto makes PS2 a more desirable choice. I have XBOX....no complaints except i can't get GTA!

Personally, both systems utilize pretty much the same technology...it just comes down to games, pricing and availability. PS2 has the slight advantage...

Im full on for PS2. good games, good graphics and lots of good devolpers on their side. plus you dont have to worry about that scary overheating thing.

i haven't used an x-box, so i really can't say anything there. i have used the ps2. the graphics are wonderful, it will play both ps1 games and dvd's. the only problem is that (depending on you taste), there may not be a large choice of games to choose from. does anyone know where i could get a ps2 fixed? i'm on long island.

I have an X-Box and I love it. The graphics are just super. As far is people getting a PS2 just for GTA, it is comiong out this summer for X-Box. Just a heads up.

i'm fully behind ps2. it has more games so far and i believe the price will come down soon, too. plus you can get online games that will be coming out like final fantasy 11 and resident evil.

Right now PS2 has the better games while Xbox is technically the better system. I am mad though that Resident Evil is only out for Game Cube. I have the PS2 and it sux when games are going on the xbox and not ps2 like I think Robotech is only coming out on Xbox.

my daughters received the PS2 for Christmas, they got the Jack Daxter game and then got the Madden football, they like it...
a friend in work is selling the "Grand Theft Auto" for 35 so I was hesitant but i'm gonna go ahead and pick it up...
their 11 and 9 and there isn't much that they haven't seen on TV already...

wow! i wish my dad was like you. i got gta at christmas, and there are some gross things. nothing all that bad. i'm sure they have seen worse on tv, but the language is sorta rough.

me and my wife have tried to teach them about everything that's out there, they know about being gay(male and female) transvestites, prostitutes, drugs, etc, what boys got and what else they're looking to get...
feel it's best they learn of it from us...

i have the x-box

pluses: you can rip your music cd's and then play them as your sound track on certain games, you never have to worry about save space, x-box has the 8 gig hard drive.

cool games: project gotham racing, wreckless, dead or alive 3

PS2. GTA3 is good and all but it does get played out after a month or two. Madden 2002 is the best. I've been playing it for 4 months or so. Plus PS2 will have Final Fantasy 11.

I would have to say PS2 I don't want to but all of the good games is too much for "lighting effects."
I like hallo and play it often at my friends house. But there is no beeting GTA, not even with a stick.
P.S. game cube can suck my stick.

That's because Nintendo decided to leave out the DVD player and concentrate
on game play and graphics. I have to give Nintendo their props.

I was at Best Buy tonight picking up the newly released Heroes of Might and Magic 4 and Might and Magic IX (I know, I'm a geek). My son was with me and we found a X-Box with Virtua Fighter 4 running. The game was great fun and the graphics simply amazing. Smooth annimation, rippling water, transluscent and reflective surfaces, multiple objects on screen without a hint of slowdown, and deformable background (in some cases foreground) objects.

If this is a typical X-Box game, it's easy to see who will win the console war

Thanks again for all the input guys. I got the PS2 today along with GTA III all for $312.00!! Not bad. I got a refurbished PS2 and a used copy of GTA III. No sense in paying 50 extra bucks for a purple box. Thank again.

In my opinion, I think the xbox is a sure fire thing. The ps2 will not be able to keep up with xbox in the future. Since i got my cable modem and Geforce TI card, I dont think I'll be getting any one of them.

I think he's talking about his PC. I know the X-BOX comes with an Nvidia graphics card but I don't think it's a Ti. As far as the cable goes you need that for online gaming. I'm a PC gamer myself. I have an Xtasy5332 GeFORCE2
32mb Memory-175 Mhz Processor Speed-256-bit GPU. It's not a Ti but it works for me. Wait till you see all these new channels they have coming out later this year for gamers. Our time has come!

Lulu, I was talking about my pc. The xbox basically has everything the pc does. That's why i think the ps2 will not last around the hardcore pc gamers.

I got an XBOX. here are a few resons why I chose it over the PS2. 1. Faster, more powerful. 2. Internal Hard Drive. 3. Built in DSL/Networking PS2 is good, but Xbox is better. It IS faster than the ps2, and has a built in 6 gig hard drive, and online dsl. The only thing the PS2 has thats better is the games. BUT most games that are for the PS2 are comming for xbox as well. GTA3 is comming to xbox in the summer I think, as well as most of the major PS2 releases. You dont need to buy memory cards for the Xbox. If you want to go online with the PS2, you have to buy a add-on which is not even out yet. See-yuh! BK.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you change that internal hard drive for a bigger one? The way TiVo owners are doing? Making it possible to have an 80 gig hard drive in your X-BOX!!! Sweetuh! Or even two(2) hard drives!! Dude!!

the only problem with that cheeze is you would void any warranty you have. i think the hard drive is 8 gig which should be all you would ever need.
