My bf & I are planning an iron
chef party. clearly, we're not
going to have an actual iron chef
cookoff in our house; that'd be
too hectic. What we DO want is
maybe a potluck of sorts. We
were thinking of maybe sending
out evites with lists of foods that
you have to either choose a food
& cook, or choose a style of
cooking (french japanese italian
chinese) or... something. get the
idea? We're going to have big
chefs hats so people can come
dressed as the Ohta faction, and
we'll have a Kaga and all the
chefs, and panelists... any other
ideas of any sort?? :)

Seriously, this idea sounds so incredibly fun and silly that it'd be perfect. Of course, you MUST have someone running around playing Ota. "Fukui-san!"

My friends and I threw an Iron chef party a while ago and it was so ridiculous it was just a blast. What we did was have a theme ingredient that everybody had to use, in our cas chicken because it was easiest, and everyone had to bring a dish. Since all of our friends watch the show, everyone tried some insane fucked up dish, and 90% of them came out awful. But once the booze started flowing, it was all good.
