IMHO, you can't beat the Bablyonians with their terrific science bonuses and the cheap costs of temples and cathedrals to keep the people happy.

Some like the military civs, but the better offensive and defensive bonuses obtained with advanced science make it not too difficult to beat the sheer number of lower powered units the military civs can churn out.

I play peace until cavalry advance, then start taking the other civs out one at a time. When tanks and later mech infantry are obtained, it's time to take on the world.

Nonetheless, I usually win by cultural victory. Never managed to complete a ship before 2050. That's the next goal.

I havent gotten three yet, but if my civilization is anything like they were in two, then the Romans are some of the better ones to get stuff done

ADF - You have to enable that option.

DOOGIE 76 - Civ 3 is far superior to Civ 2. And the different Civs have different attributes, strengths and weaknesses based in part on special military units and in part on societal focus.

HK, i play civs depending on my ancestry, so im mainly German, American or English.

i could play civ 3 24 hours a day if i didn't have to go to school

my favorites are the militaristic and scientific civilizations, so i gotta say the germans are the best, but the japanese and their samurais are cool too

i built a spaceship in 2000, and i keep trying to win a diplomatic victory, but when i build the UN and then i'm voted as the head, nothing happens

Cool game Horde. I finished ship in year 1984 i think, with americans. After readin what u said im off to conquer world with the Babylonians!

My best record (in ship building) to date is 1954 with Babylonians.

FURIE - Sorry for the name mix up. (I saw ADF under your sig picture). Have you installed the latest patch? I don't have any trouble with it.

SHAMUS - To win diplomatically, in addition to building the UN (and not having the city captured) you have to control a certain amount of land mass. Being on good terms with the other civs helps get votes.

no, i'll go look for the patch when i get home. I hope that does it. It pisses me off tring to be the japanese starting in the east coast of america.
