ok I obviously have to much time on my hands here at work but I just thought of something , maybe i am not the first but tell me what you think?
Computers have been able to make our lives alot easier for all of us, but it also has harmed us, what if we look at how computers have weakened us now and think what the future might hold. For example many of us know that the ezpass system is. in which means its charged to your credit card and means no toll collectors, thusly unemployment to those workers, banks are now charging fees for using human tellers so people can start using atms to eliminate hours to pay humans, thusly unemployment to many of them. in england the development of a car to replace taxi and limo drivers that uses the gps system and is knowledgable of streets is being tested, thusly eliminating humans, some department stores now have self check out where you pass your items through the scanner and pay via a computer in which again humans are not needed, many hotels now have a computer kiosk to check in and check out guests elimateing humans, gas stations have computers that charge your gas insetad of humans, now i am all for progress but not if it makes people unemployed..and with computers becoming more advanced and beginning to be used more and programed to do more work that humans do...in say 30-40 years in my theory wont computers being doing 90% or more of the work humans can do and replacing them thusly causing an economic conflict of unemployemnt on the rise which will then cause homelessness in this nation which might make us go backwords into a third world economy?
paranoia or strange theory?
what do you think?

Think about this for every job that is eliminated by computers another job is created by computers. To improve the techniques of computers you need more people to program and test them.
I would see computers as basically getting rid of the blue collar workers. Which is why they started pushing college more for people in the early 80's because they knew that computers would eventually be able to replace menial tasks. Its only a matter of time before you get an order taken by a robot waitress.
So therefore computer programers and ITT specialist=new blue collar of the 21st century

Shaolin shadowboxing, and the Wu-Tang sword style
If what you say is true, the Shaolin and the Wu-Tang
could be dangerous
Do you think your Wu-Tang sword can defeat me?

En garde, I'll let you try my Wu-Tang style

maybe, but the point is, you need less people for IT jobs than regular blue collar. Computer replace more people than need to maintain them.

Look at the auto industry. where it took 4 guys to attach the door, you now have 2 robot arms. and 1 person to watch the entire line of robots.

glad to see that we seem to see this kinda together lol
so basically the blue collard workers willbecome andendangered species and yet more college bound people are needed butremember this those teachers are already beingreplaced without a classroom by online college coarses, even though youstill need a teacher tograde and evaluate it does elimate that one on one interaction, so now teachers are teaching the people that might eliminate them
weird huh

Ah, the future. I've been there, you know :)

Humans all wind up with short, Tyranosaurus-like arms that they use to type on the keyboard, and not much else. Machines do all our menial stuff, like take out the trash, build houses and cars and other things, and we sleep, eat and "telecommute". Cell phones are gone, as everyone is sitting in front of a computer at all times, so you just send a message via the computer.

There were rumors of people who actually do things for themselves. No one has really seen these people, since they won't step away from the computer to do so, but they call them "Amish". Some people think that this is a misspelling of "Amiss" as in "something is amiss with these people."

Revel in your atrophied state, everyone!

Oh, and just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't after you.
