For those of us who couldn't make it to our own prom and considering its prom season....we should have one. It's just a thought but it would be nice to get dressed up, ask someone out to the 'prom' or wait to see who would ask you. I know a few months back we were planning on going somewhere much nicer than the places we have been going. Martini bar? Big restaurant with a dance floor? Come on!!! The weather is beautiful and it's time for me to wear open-toed shoes....

I got it! How about a dinner cruise? I went on one last year and it was awesome. It's $79 per person, it has a four-course sit down dinner, live band and its three hours around New York. I know a while back the mods were thinking of having an official board party to celebrate the 1 year aniversery of Ronfez.net.

This is a great idea, and it seems as if everyone is interested. And it also seems as if (and correct me if I am wrong that Mira is will to take on the responsibility of putting this together.

With something of this magnitude and this much effort, that calls for the commitment of alot of members, wouldn't it be the best interest of everyone to make this an official board party, to help Mira with the organization of this event.

Just think of it this way:

I'd rather not make this an offical event. Proms can cost a lot of money, and I don't want to limit it to people willing to spend $30-$200 (remember, its not just price of admission, its a tuxedo/dress, corsage, possibly a limo if you so desire I mean if you're going to do it right, do it right). You guys are more than welcome to have one unofficially on your own. I wouldn't use Ron & Fez's name on it. I don't know the legalities involved. Mira, you might want to talk to Ron and see if he'd be interested in working it into the show.

There's just WAY too much logistically for us to take this on our shoulders.

I'm just saying if you're going to do the prom...do the prom....you know? Dress up...make it right...otherwise its a dinner cruise. Which is fine, I'll support that and make it a board event if I can keep admission below $20. But if it gets extravagant, I don't want people to feel ostracised from board events because they can't spare a hundred bucks to have a goof ceremony for the hell of it. I'd do it, but I can't speak for others.

So let's start all over.
Let's be more organized.

If we start to save 25 dollars each paycheck by May/June we would have saved $200-300 bux.

Now, sometime in early May, we could give MIRA $100, which will go to the hall or boat or entrance to whereever it's held. That money can be deposited into MIRA's checking (if she'll allow it :) ) and then one check for the full amount can be sent to the place.

The rest of the cash you've saved will go to the purchase or your suit/dress/shoes/hair/nails, etc.

If Ron and Fez are willing to simulcast it, there is more than enough time to set a date and anyone who works on a Friday nite and willing to go can ask for that day off months in advance.

Mira, if you're willing to try this again, I'm sure starting out the planning early will ensure success, plus you can request a couple of responsible members that you know will be helpful to assist you in the planning.

Just a thought.
