i love getting cds with hidden tracks, often they're really excellent songs. however, i do not understand why they have to be hidden. i mean, everyone knows that they're there. nowadays, they even often put a sticker on the front of the thing telling you that there's a hidden track. what's the point? are you supposed to feel like you're getting something extra?
also, why do they have to be so far after the last song? it's really annoying having to either wait through all that blank space or fast forward to get to the hidden song. i guess there's a reason for this, but i dont know...

I know of one.
Fist - War of Words
You can usually just look at the cd and see the space between burns. Remember that cd's go from the center out.

On AFI's The Art of Drowning you have to wait like 15 minutes after the last song "Morning Star" is done and then youll get the hidden track

there's also a hidden track on danzig's cd, 4p. there's like at least 20 blank tracks of 5-10 seconds each before you get to the "hidden" track at 66.
... look what i just done said ...

I had Nirvana's Nevermind for about 5 years before I knew about the hidden track "endless nameless". It's way hidden after the last song, like 15 or 30 minutes or so. One day I had listened to the cd really loud, and it had ended but I didn't pay any attention to it, and the next thing I knew, this awful noise came blaring out of nowhere. The cool thing is, not every copy on cd has that track, it was only on the first pressings.

I remember Greenday's Dookie had that jerking off song at the end "All By Myself". Classic.

The Clash did not list
Train in Vain on London Calling. I believe they went to press and added the song at the last minute. Great song. It is the last song on the album.
We want Ron and Fez live in DC.

It wasnt really hidden it just wasnt listed as a song on the CD, but on The Unseen's cd "So This is Freedom?" they do a cool rendition of Michael Jackson's "Beat It". Its pretty cool. And on Anti-Flags CD "Mobilize", about 12 minutes after the last song they just have 7 minutes of them talking on stage and messing around at some live show which was cool. and at the end of the NOFX cd "So Long and Thanks for All The Shoes" they have a clip of when one of Howard Sterns crew guys used their song "Drugs are Good" as a sound bite or something, and it has Howard saying how they have no talant and they suck and stuff. he's an ass.

There's a hidden track on Ozzy Osbourne's No Rest for the Wicked and on Megadeth's Capitol Punishment: The Megadeth Years.

Ok, tonight I actually found out that the original pressings of Nevermind DID NOT include "Endless Nameless". Apparently the guy that mastered the CD originally didn't know the track was there and left it out, so actually, it's the second pressing that features the hidden track. So if you have a copy of Nevermind, and it doesn't have that song, it's an original pressing.
So uh...yeah.

Lyle Lovett's "Road To Ensenada" contains an awesome song that's buried at the end, also.
I never would have known had I not just left the CD going.
I, too, wonder why it's done.

Nevermind DID NOT include "Endless Nameless".
Endless Nameless was the name of the hidden track by Nirvana on the No Alternative compilation cd.
I hate when the hidden track is like an answering machine message, like on D-Generation's No Way Out, or just noise, like on Beck's Mellow Gold. Gorillaz had a cool remix of Clint Eastwood, but you had to sit through all the white space. Why can't more cds just make it seperate tracks like nine inch nail's broken?

I'll take your word for it on that, I don't have that cd. But it is on my copy of Nevermind.

Isn't that Charles Manson song "Look At Your Game" a hidden track?
It's on that Speghetti Incident albulm by GNR. And good call on the Danzig 4 track at the end, did not think anyone would mention that.
Tell them Johnny Wadd was here
