Ok, here's what happened to me. I want to know if there is a scientific reason for this. I usually poo everyday around 5 P.M. Today, I realized at about 10:30 that I hadn't gone yet. Then 5 minutes later, I had to go. Did I remind my bowels to go by realizing that I hadn't gone yet?

thats weird that you have a certain time of day that you poop. I just poop when i feel the need, maybe i will try this schedule thing to save time.
And that pshycosomatic thing seems to make sense. i can make myself poop if i tell myself i have to probably.

When i worked at my summer job at the oil refinery from 7-3:30 i would always poop when i got home.. every mon-fri between 3:45-4:00.. it was so predicable that my mom even knew my poop schedule...

Ever seen a triple decker? I walked into one at a public bathroom once. It was the scariest thing I had ever seen!! Not to mention the smelliest. ewwww

TAZZ - Many people have an internal biological clock (either by nature or conditioning) regulating when they go to the bathroom.

If you had to go and didn't, thinking of it could make you feel the urge to go.

I'm the same way -- I usually go when I get home from work. I think it has to do with my hatred/fear of public restrooms. But that's another thread...

Is there a heathly way to guage the way you poop? Ie are people suppose to poop once a day, twice a day? etc..

Futher how do you know if you had a healthy poop? Poop comes in all shape and sizes but what's the healthiest? the rock hard poop or the sloppy, you need to wipe 5 times to clean your ass type of poop.

does anyone really know?

I wish my bowels would poo on command :( I usually love my bowels, but god is punishing me for something this week becuase I haven't pooed in 5 DAYS! I even tried a laxative suppository and it didn't work. I think I have impacted fecal matter.

PS - everyone in my family is sick of hearing me talk of the poo problem

5 days is WAY too long. Try prune juice and other laxitives. If you haven't gone in a few more days, you have to call your doctor.
