i dont like the way O&A are talking about wnew, they make it sound like they are gonna be the only remaining show and their gonna fire everyone else or something. what kind of "major changes" are they talking about, wnew is going to become a music station?, where would ron and fez go, would they still air ron and fez on WJFK? im going crazy

I think that Jeremy Coleman and Ken Stevens are history. Beyond that, no one knows. I dunno why Infinity loves the D&M show so much. It's obvious that they're the major reason why the station has not been growing in the ratings.

R&F know that they're good and they're funny. They also know that they can go back to Fla and get syndicated back into NYC.

In the long run, R&F would be better served if they were off WNEW and out of the pro-Stern, pro-D&M, Infinity.

If WNEW becomes a music station, wouldn't the ratings fall from the sky as it did when it was still playing classic rock? Seriously, manangement needs to sit down and look into what decisions they're going to make and the effect in the long run. Because if they think that making it a music station will help, then it only means that they're all smoking some strong weed.

Jeremy Coleman and every other decision -making muckity-muck at WNEW NEED to be fired. They DO NOT support the on air personalities as they should. I haven't seen one billboard, bus or newspaper ad, TV spot, NOTHING!!! They expect people to just magically 'discover' the station as they are channel surfing and become life-long listeners. Then, those same people are supposed to discover the other shows on the station from the thousands of promos they run for the other shows. How freakin' stupid is that!!! It's true that O&A (rightly) generate publicity but is that supposed to speak for the whole station?!

I see ads and billboards for every other station EXCEPT NEW. I think these guys deserve better.

If Ron and Fez move to anything else I can't hear them b/c im in school. I think if WNEW just gets rid of Don and Mike they'll be good.

Im usually not one to bother with these type of posts but I cant help but womder too, what the F is WNEW going to do now O and A defantly gave that cringy nervous feeling today. Id sure as hell like to know what exactly is wrong with WNEW. I mean if you have at least 3 shows pulling in the ratings, what could be wrong with the station? WHo the hell knows!

O&A really annoyed me today. I hate all of this "we're gonna look out for ourselves!" bullshit. Here's a novel idea - have some balls and stick up for the station and for your friends (i.e. Ron & Fez).

Here's what I suggest they do with the station:

Fire Ken, fire Jeremy.
Test pattern from 5 a.m. til 3 p.m.
3 to 7 - O&A
7 to 11 - R&F
11 to whenever (1?) - Eddie Trunk (FIVE times a week!)

The important thing is - fire Don & Mike. I don't even live in NY, but I can tell you that much.

As I see it, R&F are the reason WNEW hasn't switched formats. O&A will have numbers no matter what is around them. What is driving Ken and Jeremy nuts is a show that can move from late nights, to mid-day to evenings and still increase their books (without a producer).

R&F won't be moving bacjk here (FL) for a syndication deal. Nobody is syndicated INTO New York.

R&F have a chemistry that can't be found anywhere else. No matter what, they'll wind up somewhere. (and dammit, I'll find someone to hook me up with a feed to keep WR going).

No other radio personalities could keep up the HORRENDOUS numbers that Don and Mike put up and not be fired. The only reason they are still where they are is because they haven't found anyone to fill that slot. On a side note: How funny is it that after like two years their promos still say "Get to know Don and Mike"?

D&M have terrible numbers in NY and have had terrible numbers in NY since day one. They're allowed to stay where they are because Infinity likes them and they did have a number one show in D.C.

R&F need to be with a station that supports and nutures their show. Their talent is being wasted in 7-11 pm. They have to compete with prime time TV so that severely limits their ability to get guests and grow an audience.

If there were any justice, they'd be in mid-days as part of Infinity's national syndication package.

BTW, Loveline is also syndicated into NY

I stand corrected. I should have said, nobody worth a crap is syndicated INTO New York.

O&A, Stern, Rush are all top rated shows that originate in NY.

D&M, Loveline, Lick-ass, (others?) may have a deal to be on in NY, but the shows are a step down from the ones going out of New York.

That was the point I was trying to make. Alcohol may have blurred my thought process.
