I know this is a previous topic... but this is a continuation of a problem I and other board member have.
A problem that gets worse every time I go out.
I am getting to the point where I can't pee anywhere if someone is within 10 ft of me...
it is driving me CRAZY!!!!!!
please help me Horde King...
This past weekend I stood in front of a urinal for 20 minutes as guy after guy would pee next to me in the adjacent urinal...
and as more and more go by I would get these looks of confusion and disgust as they all thought I was some kind of gay pervert.
And the comments are the worst as you TRY to explain your problem, that NO ONE understands cause if they had my problem... they sure as hell wouldn't be in there peeing next to me.
I am sick of waiting for a stall to open
I am sick of having to hold in till I almost piss my self
I am sick of waiting out restrooms till everyone is gone
I am sick of this problem and I need some sort of solution.

There is nothing more exhilerating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?

here's a trick that works. when your at a urinal next to someone, look over and say, "hey nice watch"
usually they'll walk away and you'll have it all to yourself.

TOM you summed it up in the title of your thread - "stage fright." You're making a very big issue over something that affects many men. I'm sure you know lots of guys who are pee shy, (or would if you discussed this with them - lol)
You can overcome this problem with a lot of work, through behavior modification. Right now your conditioned response prevents you from being able to go while other guys are there. You've convinced yourself that you have to perform in some way. You can't so you get frustrated, angry and scared. It builds and increases your inability to go.
Forget about the etiology of the problem. You need to directly tackle the problem since it's bothering you so much. A pee buddy, as I discribed in the other post is a great help. He can stay outside the door to a stall even until you're comfortable going with him around.
The idea is to make small gradual doable steps to decondition yourself and remove the fear while simultaneously achieving the desired behavior.

Do math in your head while you stand there. I read it in a magazine once, but it seems to work most times I can't piss because someone else is there.

A pee buddy is just a friend who hangs out near you (not on top of you) while you urinate.
The idea isn't for him to watch you pee, but for you to get more comfortable peeing when other people are around.
He can start of 20 feet away behind a closed door and slowly move up until he's a few feet away. It takes a while but it works. You need to find a VERY close friend willing to help you with this.
