seagullbeagle way to go. i have my NJ pride. and for this, I will give out one of the strange things I found in Jersey.

Garret Mountain in Paterson, NJ. Rt. 80 East to Squirrelwood Rd. exit. Make a left at the end of the ramp. Over the bridge, through the lights, pass Berkley on your right and up the hill. Make a left to go into the Garret Mountain area. There is a little resevoir on the left before the left turn, and there is a mini strip of stores on your right as you make the turn. So go left, and then make your first right into the mountain. It's one way. Keep going up that road, past the lake down the hill on the right(but you can stop if ya want to,) up the mountain, stay to your left if you see that exit leaving the park. Stop in the small parking area on your left when you see the fortification on your right. It looks like a castle, it's right up the hill. Park, go up the Lookout Tower, and you'll notice a stone wall on the other side of it. If you are facing the wall, follow the wall to your right. Go to the end of the wall, where there is this log placed there horizontally to keep you from doing something stupid like walking onto the cliff. Well, step over the log and onto the cliff, and now go left following the wall back but on the other side. Here's the tricky part...keep going down that way, you're going to have to climb your way down a bit of rock into a pit looking thing(about 7 or 8 feet.) If ya did it right you are standing in the middle of the cliffside underneath this huge ass boulder which is supported by these other huge ass boulders, which I think broke away from the cliff side. It's like a giant rock doorway. Kinda cool. There is really very little space between the supporting rocks. Kinda scary. OK everyone, now you have some more insight into who I am when I found this one day.

Back from the Lookout Tower, if you go left, you go down a lot of stairs to Lambert Castle, I don't suggest that unless you got time. Go to your right instead, you will find paths that lead into the forest. You will find huge parts of the cliff broken away leaving these deep cracks you can walk over. The paths finally lead to some good cliffside views of Paterson, Fair Lawn, Garfield, and beyond. You can also spot the NYC skyline to your right.

Going further up the mountain takes you to the highest point and the viewing area. I like the Lookout Tower, and the cliffside views instead. There aren't any walls to stop you from lookin' over the cliff.

On 4th of July I want to sneak up there and videotape firework displays from over 30 towns at the same time. Shhh...don't tell anyone.

And you can't beat the pizza, tomatos or corn they grow up there....mmmmm, i'm so hungry!

Just so you know, I am very proud to be a Jersey Girl ( i don't have the bangs anymore though) I annoy everyone in Texas with facts about New Jersey. Someone has got to teach them they live in a state, NOT their own damn country. Have you ever heard of a state where they raise the state flag and sing the song before every football game? what kind of shit is that?

Thanks for the help Earth2Ron, how can i ever repay you?!

For a brief time they were the Republic of Texas. It's like VA keeping the Confederate stuff alive.

Les Paul got an honorary degree from my college the year I graduated, and he got a standing ovation by saying two words. He was the only speaker to get any respect at the graduation.

And NJ is the only state in the union where you make a right turn to go left.

Now THAT'S funny!

Oral sex is not considered adultery in New Jersey. And I quote, "The sexual intercourse must involve some penetration of the female organ by the male
organ, but a 'completion' of the sexual intercourse is not required."

Who knew?
