Honestly, who cares if Al is gay or not? And from the perspective of the show, Randy is defined 100% by his sexuality. Hell, he even goes by "Gay Randy". Look, I don't know anything about Randy outside of the show, I'm sure he's just "Gay Randy", I was just suprised how clear and direct and actually pretty correct Al was when the Dukes' Rage kicks in...Earl is getting knocked into the ropes on The Night of Fights...

I have to agree with you. Al was right about a lot of things. About the only reason the listeners sided with Randy was because they didn't like him. About Randy's obsession with his own gayness and wanting Al to be gay too. The reality of it is that I empathise with Al. Being intelligent and black I know what it's like to have the whole world tell you that you are something that you're not. I've been every kind of oreo/sellout/wannabe white boy you can think of. And no matter what I do people think that I'm just trying to be white and nothing could be further from the truth. I feel where he's coming from when he's so frustrated with the jokes and the insults and the fact that no one wants to believe him that he goes off to punch a wall. But they call it "The crying room" because he won't stay and just constantly be abused. On a similar note: Black Earl is a fucking punk ass. Him, more than anyone, shouldn't be making fun of Al when he's gong through this. It's just a matter of time before the "Earl must be gay" jokes start again from Opie and Anthony. Earl knows better than anyone what it's like to be on the receiving end of that and should have shown some empathy like a gentleman. As far as Al goes I hope he keeps sticking up for himself. I just wish he'd watch what he says because they've got enough drops to torture him, forever.

Al's not gay.

Who's going to start the fan club? Cause i want to be the treasurer!

Hmmm, Billy Has "Billys Angels"

Fez has "The Whatley Crew"

maybe it's time for Al to get his "Dukeys" together to join him and kick Randy's ass at the Night of Fights! LOL!

I've said it from the beginning. I like Al. Ever since I met him at the bar crawl I've liked him. He's a good guy, and I respect his ability to take punishment and stay dedicated to his job. After months of abuse, his level of performance has never waivered, and he has always been respectful, except in cases where a radio bit expects him to be a bit caustic for effect.

Every radio show needs a "spaz". It makes the jocks look superior and it gives the audience someone to laugh at and pick on. Unfortunately, Al is the spaz, but he gets paid well to be one. Eventually he will get tired of this gig and move on to something more lucrative, but until then...jokes on the listeners who make fun of him cause he's on radio in the #1 market and their not.

What I meant was, "I'm sure he's NOT just 'Gay Randy'"...Randy's a funny guy and he's entertaining on the show, but he is pretty much just the gay guy there to drive Al wild, one way or another...shine on, Randy, you crazy, gay diamond...

"The Al-American Al Stars"?

"The Dukes of Parnelus(sp?) Park"?

"Al In The Family"?

Did anyone else notice the way that he SCREAMED at Earl to shut up last night, talk about ranting like opie... he sounded just like him! This fight looks like it's going to get ugly quick.

i've got to say... i have always hated al. i found him annoying and couldn't deal with having to listen to him when he was on the show.

last night changed all that. i was really impressed by his conviction, and his arguments were solid and made sense. now if he could just stop providing them with so many sound clips, i might be the secretary...

i have nothing but the utmost respect for al, even though i sometimes rag on him and call him gay (i don't think he is, but his character is). He does it all for the show. He understands his role, and that's why he takes the punishment he does. He was also very nice to me at the cruel circus. remember the beating he took at the first night of fights? he was beaten, but he got up for more, because the crowd wanted more.

When the Dukeys form up, count me in!

yeah me too. i used to hate him on the show but he was really cool at the crawl, i even told him that i wish he wasn't cool because i didn't want to like him.

i think the al's gay bit is a little overdone, but overall he's good for the show. i don't know producing wise, i don't know shit about that.
but al's alright, even though i will continue to bash him and i fully refuse to join the dukeys!

If I didn't think Al was in on the "joke", I'd be listening to something else when the gay-bashing hits the airwaves. I dislike that part of the show. What gets me through is reminding myself that Al is taking one (actually a LOT more than one) for the team, and thus I wait patiently for Ron and Fez to shift gears. But if the show keeps spending so much air-time on the "Al is Gay" theme, I won't be listening as much.

Just one person's opinion.

Can't we all just get along?

I used to think When they made fun of Al it was funny funny until it started to take up more and more of the show every night. Now it just stupid already, ok we know he might be gay, hes bald, hes bad with women, hes a wimp etc etc. Its all been established, do we need to hear about every night. I think there is an unconcious psychology to it. Making fun of Al and all his problems and shortfalls makes Ron and Fez look cooler to their listeners bec theyre not the ones with all these problems

the bit is sounding tired, especially with Gay Randy. Frankly, I switch over to the Mets game whenever he's on because he's so repetitive. However, I like how Al Dukes is sounding off these days.

The couple times I've met Al, I really liked him. He came across as a really nice guy. With that said, I don't care for his on-air character. It's fun to make fun of that character.

and can we really trust Pants with the money???

I think pretty much everyone realizes if the tooling done on al dukes was all real, the man would have serioulsy quit by now. i don't know al personally but i love to hate the role he plays on the show. <P>

I think Al was right and when he lost his mind-- I could have given him a hummer rght there-- something about him taking charge of himself last night made him instantly attractive.. Or maybe I'm coming down with something?

Whatever! He ruled.

A whole bunch of bunchies!
