MUSIC VIDEOS - What's the Meaning?

Hey all.

This basically is a thread for people who've seen certain music videos but can't understand what the hell the symbolism in the video is supposed to represent. Basically what you do is name the video and people can come up with thier intepretations of what the video means.

Like, can anybody explain to me what the ENTIRE FUCKING VIDEO for Tool's schism is supposed to mean? Who are the weird impressionistic dancers with the mouth people hanging from thier heads?

Like, can anybody explain to me what the ENTIRE FUCKING VIDEO for Tool's schism is supposed to mean? Who are the weird impressionistic dancers with the mouth people hanging from thier heads?
i love tool better than any band ever, but i have no clue what any of their videos mean. i have seen the schism video several times and this is what i got out of it.

the lyrics say: "Pure intention juxtaposed will set two lovers souls in motion" so those two weird dancers would sympolize the lovers.

"The light that fueled our fire then has burned a hole between us so
We cannot see to reach an end crippling our communication." that could symbolize the fire at the end of the video (wich is my favorite part) and why they were moving like that. it might not have been a pyhical crippling, but more of a spiritual one. which could explain why they looked so strange. sort of like demons in the sense that they were crippled in some way, which would support me guess of spiritual crippling.

but maybe, just maybe, they made the video with such random images just to get you to think of what it could mean, and make you look at the video in a whole new way.

Well, I've only seen in on Muchmusic once this past weekend, but there's a video for Tool's "Parabola" too, and my head was spinning by the end of it. More sick weird imagry, and I don't think it's supposed to make sense, I think our heads are just supposed to explode trying to figure them out....

I always found it interesting to watch "Pop Up Video" to find out what the story or idea behind a video was. Often, bands would have some kind of complex plot for the video, but because of the medium and perhaps too many jump cuts to the band playing on stage, it was obscured.

To me, the most perfect video, was The Replacements video for Bastards of Young. The complete Anti-Video.
Black and White, a still camera shot of a guy sitting on a couch, listening to the song on vinyl, smoking a cigarette, shot from the back. He gets up at the end and kicks in the speaker.
