Some alcoholics I've seen have red faces. Why is that?

Some alcoholics I've seen have red faces. Why is that?
Because they're white.

Too much Alcohol is a leading factor in Rosceca, which my Dermatologist calls Irish Rosceca.

i think too much alcohol causes capilaries in your face to break, giving you "gin blossoms" and the red face, but i'm not sure

RHINOPHYMA is the term for this condition in which the upper layer of skin (the epithelium) on th outside of the nose thickens and the nose assumes a large, bulbous appearance.
The condition is associated with alcohol abuse but it affects nondrinkers as well. It is sometimes preceded by rosacea, a chronic inflammatory skin disorder.
The only treatment I'm aware of is surgical. The excess epithelium is sliced off from the outside and the nose usually resumes its natural shape.

I'm thinking the phenomenon here is more of a temporary thing some people get while drinking. I know that a lot of Asians get it, and it's sometimes called "Asian glow" or "Asian bloom".

A temporary flush could, I suppose be caused by dilation of the capilaries in the face as a result of alcohol. You know I don't drink, but I've never before heard anyone say that this is a condition more common in Asians. If anyone could give me some more information about this, I'd appreciate it.
