The much troubled life of Davey Boy Smith ended last night of a heart attack at the age of 39. Smith was on a weekend vacation in Envereme, British Columbia with girlfriend Andrea Hart. We are awaiting other details. (Dave Meltzer @

Too bad, he was a real great performer in his day. Despite the great build and strength he developed his wrestling skills to a degree beyond most of his peers.

I'm stunned. he was far too young to die. He deserves a tribute tomorrow at the ppv

I can't even remember his old partners name but didn't that guy also die about 10 years ago?

Tell them Johnny Wadd was here

His old partners name was the Dynamatine Kid. I know he had a lot of health problems, don't know if he's dead or not.

Good God, one of my favorites. *deep breath* So sad.

Davey, rest in piece.

I really regret the last thing I remember of him is geting Rockbottomed by the Rock onto dog sh*t on Smackdown!

It's a f'n shame!

I loved Bulldogg for many years & still love those classic matches from the 80's w/ Dynomite Kid. Davey Boy was a damn good wrestler in his prime, until 99 when his painkiller & alcohol problems took a hold on him majorly. I personally think the guy could've made a comeback if he cleaned up a little. I will miss him.

For the record Dynomite Kid is still alive, but pretty much confined to a wheelchair after the years of abuse in the ring. I'm positive he wrote a book about his days wrestling a couple years ago.

After leaving the WWE last time, did he return to wrestling elsewhere?

What a shame....the British Bulldogs were perhaps my first favorite tag team. Coming back to watching the wrestling, I was irritated that he was "the British Bulldog" and not Davey Boy Smith. He helped make the European title worth something, with the last matches against D'Lo and Val. He was even on Animal Planet's "Breed All About It" (about the British Bulldog, naturally).

Reading stuff on the side, I found out about his problems and troubles. Pity he didn't get over his demons.

What are they gonna do now?
