On the issue, my first impulse was to agree that women are becoming sluttier. But I thought of friends that I have who don't mind showing boobies, or having one-night-stands, and yet I have the utmost respect for. I think there's a blurring of the lines between the Madonna/Whore perception of women in America. Women are making choices about what they do, less based upon the worry of whether people think they are a slut or not. And that's how it should be. Our society has dictated to women how they should and shouldn't act from the beginning. At our worst, we were as bad as the Taliban, (the Salem Witch Hunt, and Puritanical codes for women). Over time we have become more subtle, like a constant barrage of images in the media, (women's magazines, advertisements... ), meant to create an ideal image for women to compare themselves to, in order to keep them as the ultimate consumers. But I think women are overcoming that in the only way it can be done - by saying "fuck you" to anyone who wants to judge them or define them. Women are deciding for themselves what they want to do, regardless of what others think of them. And you can't assume anymore that a woman WOWing someone on the freeway is a slut who's likely to bang anyone who comes along, (no pun intended). She's just as likely to be saving herself for marriage, but doesn't feel that the sight of her boobies is a sacred right that has to be saved for hubby, and doesn't give a shit if people think she must be a slut.
Like it or not, women, more than ever, decide for themselves what they do and do not want to do. Maybe that makes it more confusing for us men to find that certain "type" of girl to bang or bring home to Mom, but that's tough titties for us.
