REDMOND, WA -- May 20, 2002 Less than one year after successfully launching NINTENDO GAMECUBET at a mass-market price, Nintendo of America Inc. is dropping the MSRP to $149.95, effective Tuesday, May 21, 2002. To date, Nintendo has shipped more than 4.5 million systems worldwide and its hit title, Super Smash Bros. T Melee, has topped the 2.5 million mark.

Today's announcement comes as the $27 billion interactive entertainment industry gathers in Los Angeles for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) to preview the latest and greatest games coming out this holiday.

"It's simple, really: Nintendo is committed to offering our players the best games and the best price," says Peter MacDougall, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America Inc. "We were the first manufacturer to reach the $199 price level and now we?re leading the industry to $149 allowing even more players around the world to get their hands on our legendary favorites like Mario, Zelda, Star Fox and Metroid this year."

Hey crob! You aint the only one. The only sign I saw (refering to PS2) was that at KB toy store the prices fell like 15 bucks on all the games the day before the price cut. Other than that I didnt see this one coming.

RE for GCN rocks pretty damn hard. I never played RE1, so I can't tell how it compares and what's been changed, but it's damn cool and scary.

I'll give you a run down of RE for Gamecube from me myself as a normal everyday gamer who plays games far too much. If you've never played Resident Evil games before than this is not the game for you. Some aspects of the game can get really challenging and the controls are pretty hard. Yet if you're looking for a good challenge anyway then don't let me stop you because I wasn't going to anyway. It's still a very fun game and some aspects are scary, because in the Gamecube version everything is very realistic as opposed to the Playstation game which made me laugh at the square zombies. Always funny. It's also really frigging long. You'll find yourself going around and around in circles doing a lot of backtracking and opening shit. Honestly it's more of a detictive game with minimal intense fighting. It's like a gory Shenmue. In my opinion Resident Evil gives a good challenge and a lot of fun to beginning and experts of the series and it'll make you want to play to this end... However I bought a new Gamecube game shortly after I got Resident Evil so I didn't get around to finishing it yet. Anyway if by some strange twist oif fate you actually read my sub-par review and it makes you want to go buy the game then go ahead. If you skipped to the end or have little interest in the Resident Evil series then rent it first. <P>
Also Gamecube games
