View Full Version : A wood floor follow up question...
Many of you ladies mentioned in previous threads that you maintain the wood floor. I have to ask some stupid questions about that now:
1) How often do you shave to maintain?
2) Dont you get razorburn?
3) How do you treat your razorburn?
4) What razor do you use, and is it good?
I need help, Ive been trying for 3 weeks now and it was great the very first time I did it, but now I'm having issues keeping it that nice.

Hi Gwen. :) To answer your questions....
1. I shave 2x a week to keep it nice.
2. No razor burn for me. And if I do get it, I don't notice it b/c I've been doing this for like 8 years.
3. Jergen's Skin Coolling Lotion is good stuff, even if you don't have razor burn. :)
4. Men's razors are the best. I use a Mach 3 Turbo. It's VERY good. Also use Skintimate Shave Gel. It's very good.
Hope I could help some.

Gwen,
Thanks for asking this question. Lately I've been sporting the woodfloor and have been experiencing similar problems.
Tonight, tho, I cut myself. Nothing worse than a scraped tookie.

Gwennie-
I have very dark hair so I have to do it a lot... I'm really considering the brazillian wax even though they splay you out and start ripping away at your privates. I've been sporting the wood floor for 6 or 7 years!
Number: 510
1) How often do you shave to maintain?
I have to do it at least 2 times a week (sometimes 3) but I've been using that Jergens lotion that is supposed to slow hair growth and its been working!
2) Dont you get razorburn?
I ususally get a couple of bumps - you can reduce this by using a lot of shave gel and not shaving against the growth of the hair
3) How do you treat your razorburn?
I use lotion and baby powder, with A&D ointment
4) What razor do you use, and is it good?
I use the Venus Razor with the skintimate Vitamin E Shave Gel.. The Venus refill are expensive as fuck but its worth it.
And I once cut the inside of my vergina while shaving. It hurt a lot.

A really, really big key to shaving is exfoliating!!! I don't use a soap or an exfoliating mud, I use the gloves, with soap...get a really good scrub, leave the soap, then put your shaving lotion on over the soap, this way you have 2x the protection, (I cut easily). All the dead skin is sloughed away, so ingrown hairs are less likely, and the hair has been softened by the hot water and washing that area. It has been helping a lot for me. I think I should start using that Jergens lotion...Thank's Missy!!!!

I shave twice a week and never really have a problem. The new Jergens lotion does help, but what works even better against ingrown hairs or razor burn, is deotorant. I sware by it, after you shave just swipe some on and it works wonders.

To me the best way to do it is to get it proffesionally done. It'll last longer ,look better, and no irritation. If you dont go that route then the fine ladies have provided the best alernatives on this thread <P>

ok i shave like everyother day, i shave **down** so there is just a tiny bit of hair but it gets rid of razor burn (a stripper told me this). always use hotter water than normal to prevent razor burn, and put no perfume cream on after you shave. and i use the gilette venus, works perfect.

ok so last night i shaved my tata. I wanted it to have absolutely no hair so I was shaving against the grain which always gives razor burn. But! I put Baby Lotion on it and it stopped the burn! I highly recommend the new baby lotion technique.

I've been lazy lately, but I shaved it bare today! Yay! I use Mach 3 Turbo and it kicks ass! I shave against the hair. I usually have to shave 2 to 3 times a week because I have dark hair. Gaia, I also do that too once in a while when I have time and it REALLY works! Exfoliation...the soap scrub, and shave gel piled ontop of one another really prevents razor burn and ingrown hairs. I use baby powder afterwards and it helps ingrown hairs. I also have to try this Jergens lotion! Thanks Missy!

i've had a wood floor for about a year and a half now, and it is much easier to deal with womanly things with a bare kitty.
1. i it shave every day cause my hair grows back super fast.
2. i don't believe that i have ever experenced razor burn, but if i do, i never notice it.
3. i would say use lotion or something else that moisturises.
4. i myself use a bic only because it is the only thing i have and i'm too lazy to go get a mach 3. but the bic works fine.
