does anyone know how much money star wars made for its weekend earnings? did it beat spider-man? i havent seen anything on tv or anything.

"May 19 -- The latest "Star Wars" installment has raked in a huge $116 million since its release on Thursday -- the third-largest opening in movie history...

Box office analysts said "Clones" -- restricted by Lucas to theaters with high-quality THX sound -- probably missed the all-time record because it opened on only 6,100 screens, compared with the 7,500 screens reserved for "Spider-Man," the current record-holder, three weeks ago."
