It was great hearing Glenn Tilbrook on the show last night, "Squeeze" made some great music back in the day, if you never heard them, check them out!
It's nice having an occasional musical guest on the show.

Ditto Heckler. It was cool hearing the "unplugged" version.

I remember when MTV first came on the air, they used to play the "Black Coffee In Bed" video fairly regularly.

I'm sure you've all heard the story about how they changed "Pulling muscles for Michelle" to "pulling mussels from a shell" in order to get past the British censors. Squeeze was one of the first bands I liked back when I listened to KROQ. I haven't lived in LA for years, but they probably play a lot of Korn, nowadays. Sigh.. I miss the days of wussy alt-rock.

I'm so pissed I missed Tilbrook's appearance on the show. "Argy Bargy" was a HUGE album, and I remember seeing Squeeze for the first time on the old Uncle Floyd show on UHF channel 68. They did "Another Nail For My Heart" and I was instantly a fan.

I love all of squeeze's stuff. The last album that I have of their's is some fantastic place. It's not their signature album, but it's still a good album.

They also had a hit in the early 90's with " satisfied" from their album play, which is a great album too.

magical!

gvac,

Nice reference: I remember watching the "Uncle Floyd Show" when I was a kid. I used to love that show. I wondered whatever became of Uncle Floyd. The last time I saw him was when he played one of the DJs in "Good Morning Vietnam".

Believe it or not, AJ, old Uncle Floyd was playing piano and telling jokes at a town fair I attended last Sunday. The man appears to be ageless, too. Kind of like a demented Dick Clark.
