Hey Horde King, I need some advice. I went out with this cool girl last night & had the greatest time of my life. We spent the night walking around and talking about different things & found out we have alot in common.

Here's my dilemma: I've been burned one to many times by women that i've just stop trying to get close to them because im afraid. How should i handle this & not be afraid to get close to someone?

dude, if you really like this girl you should go for it. don't let past expericances scare you. i have been in this situation before, if i let past events cloud my decision making, well i probibly wouldn't even bother to leave the house anymore. good luck man, and my the force be with you

I really honestly don't know what to say about this.

first off, anakin- I think that possibly the female in question may be at a relaxing point where she doesnt directly wanna be associated with any males other then the ones already around her. She may be going through a transitional phase in her life where shit is weird, so be there for her as friendly as possible and keep it real.

second of all, maybe I think, there are other females around you who may want you possibly so bad that they wouldnt let anyoneg et close to you anyway :)

ANAKIN - I think it fair to say that the majority of men have been "burned" or hurt at one time or another, by women they were interested in.

Every time you put your emotions out there you become vulnerable, especially if the person you're "letting in" is someone you care about. Obviously someone who knows you and who you care about has greater potential for hurting you than a stranger.

Fear of rejection should not be paralyzing to you. If you do not meet people and attempt to get close to them, you will never reap the many rewards of having more and new friends and the ultimate prize - the special person you can spend your life with.

You had a great time on your date. "The greatest time of [your] life." You talked for a long time (something more guys should do on dates). You discoverd that you have much in common.

That sounds like the basis of the start of a good relationship. If you let the fear of rejection keep you from dating her again or hanging out with her, you'll never know just how far the relationship could have gone.

no, there's also the girls that are stuck up bitches and/or drama queen/attention whores.

just take it slow and see what happens. you really shouldnt base things after only one date, and if you come across as coming on too strong, you'll probably scare her off.

We have all been burned some more then others, take it slow, listen to her....I REPEAT LISTEN TO HER, for some reasons guys dont listen to women, another thing just take it slow (I know i said that already but its important) and let things happen if it doesn't work oh well life is like that but learn from each experience....and did I mention take it slow
