I got a bunch of sand in my sneakers this weekend, and I'm not sure how to get it out without washing out my whole sneaker(s)...but then it takes forever to dry...is there an easier way to dry my sneakers (the inside of them i mean)?

just take out the sole, and brush out the inside.

Yeah, you do realize sand is pretty easy to get out, right? Just turn the sneaker upside down and shake it.

And just wear sandles anywhere you're going to encounter water.

Obviously, neither of you actually understood that i was asking how to dry my sneakers. Not how to get sand out, but how to DRY THEM...

There are 3 ways that I can think of:
1.)take a hair dryer to em.
2.)put em in the sun.
3.) put em on a rack in the dryer.

NJBYTCH beat me to it. Those are all good ways to get the sneakers dry.

However, chances are that they will never be as good as before b/c some shrinkage and even partial disentegration (of the insert) occurs.

You might want to try a short burst in the microwave. But not if they're leather.

Im with NJBytch & the HK on this one. The hairdryer is the way to go.

I vote to avoid the microwave though, because if there is even a small metal part on them you might blow up your microwave. Just a thought.

i would suggest using a vaccuum cleaner. that should take care of the sand.

To get them dry.. just stuff some news papers in them.. that will absorb the water

I like to lick the sand out THEN lay them in the sun

A Zen Monk told me that it's better to avoid getting the sneakers wet, than to try to dry them afterwards.
