Dont get me wrong they would be better then Don and Mike but from what I've heard of their show when I was in Orlando they sound too southern they have a couple of hardcore rednecks so I dont think they have the right sound for NY. Plus they're owned by clear channel which is another issue

I am not getting paid anything by the monsters. I am just trying to say that they would be a great fit on WNEW. Right now they are syndicated all over Florida and Georgia and would make a great fit. Plus they have history with RON AND FEZ. The monsters love RON AND FEZ

Some peopl say that the monsters would not work in New York. I know that it is a concern, but one thing that you have to think of Florida is not all full of rednecks. Florida is filled with alot of transplants, people that have moved from up north. Also the Monsters add more than just a radio show, they are also a band where they so there own original songs, some our serious but most of them are funny. At there last they must have had 5,000 people there.

Who? Actually, I can't think of a show that would be successful in that time slot. Radio Chick? Sucks proverbial ass. Lickass? 'Nuff said. Maybe they'll go with some sort of music/talk format during that period or go with the Wheeze.. but seems doubtful.

Nice way to pigeonhole yourself into a timeslot. Now thay HAVE to be on the midday slot no matter where they go or it's just stupid.

While "Radio and Records" is an indutry publication, it's still internet buzz, and by saying "somewhere" you still haven't validated the statement.

The thing is...

No one outside of a true insider will know what's going to happen until it happens. Radio is a funny business that way. Listeners won't know that the show that they love is gone until they tune in and hear it isn't there anymore. Then they wonder what happened to the show they loved and search out where it is.

When it comes to "big radio business", the GM's don't care that you aren't listening to your show of choice. They just care about what ratings the show they heard "sells" gets, which in turn gets advertising time, which equals revenue, which is what it all comes down to. The almighty dollar.

So whether you like it or not, as a listener, the cold hard fact is, ratings for a show (which can fluctuate greatly) determine what advertisers pay for time, which is what brings money into a station.

So it might be a cooking show, or a news show, or even an infomercial. If it gets ratings, that means it sells advertising. And if it sells advertising, the station makes money.

So don't think for a minute that the management of WNEW cares one bit about what YOU like. They care about what sells advertising. It's just business.

You know who would be a good alternative to the monsters? Neil Rogers. He is based out of Miami and he has taken the monsters head on. He has a proven track record and was doing this type of talk show long before Don and Mike and Stern were doing it.
