Sneezing/coughing

I was at Nathan's hot dog once, and this girl working there had the worst cold - she was coughing all over everyone's food. I thought to myself "this chick has probably infected 100 people doing this". She didn't seem to care. Once when I was at a bakery I asked the clerk there for a cake. While she was taking it out of the cabinet, she sneezes on it. She proceeds to put it in a box. I said to her "you don't think I am going to buy that do you?" I got another person there to give me a different cake. How gross!

I just had to bring this topic back as this guy sitting next to me is snothering, coughing, sneezing all over me and everything else around him - gross! I got up and walked away.

Sometimes when I ride the train, I often wonder how many people may have gotten on that had tuberculosis or something like that.

Me and my sister once went to a pizza place and order a plain pie. We saw the lady who was making it, and she was coughing and hacking while she was kneading dough. It was pretty gross so we walked. out.

Makes you worry about what you don't see at a restaurant.

I got a story for ya. I went to Syria one summer to visit some relatives I have there, and I got Hepetitis A from some FILTHY ARAB!

Hep. A is the one that is passed from person to person by dirty hands, and fecal matter. So as far as I can tell, some guy wiped with filthy hands, and then served me food on the street.

Don't forget that in MANY places in the world, they wipe with they own hands, and DON'T have hot water to wash up with. And that hole in the ground toilet is all they have over there too.

The US of A rulz! It may not be perfect, but at least we have Toilet paper, sit down toilets with running water plumbing, and Water heaters to make HOT WATER, the ONLY real way to kill germs with soap.

I don't think I have germ ocd as it isn't a continual preoccupation. I guess I just know to much about germs and stuff (ignorance is sometimes bliss).

As NJdmmoe said you can pick up some pretty nasty illnesses just from people not cleaning properly. I also knew of a lady who got hepatitis from a restaurant she ate at in Mexico.

I just couldn't believe that, that lady in the bakery actually thought that I would buy a cake she sneezed on!

Bet seriously, we can NEVER stop every virus and germ from entering our bodies, I understand. But we CAN limit them with healthy habits, and general common sense. I mean, come on. How can you look at yourself in the mirror if you're a food handler, if you DON'T wash your hands after you go to the can, or whatever? I would NEVER be able to live with that!

I WAS a food handler, at Pathmark in the produse section! I was FOREVER washing my hands when we made Friut and Veggie platters. I wanted to make sure that the "Happy family" wasn't gonna be up all night shitting their brains out because I cross contaminated their peppers and tomatoes.

Have some common sense, and responsibility, you filthy people!

Thanks NJdmmoe. It's nice to hear someone gives a crap about food handling.

In my first post, I mentioned about the girl at Nathan's coughing all over everybody's food. I actually went over to her manager and said something about her. He just looked at me like I was crazy and like he was mad at me. And did nothing about her. Excuse me, if I don't want to be laid up for two weeks with a cold!

It's not about ocd, it's about common sense and courtesy to others. What if someone with an autoimmune disease (like aids) or someone with leukemia went there and picked up a cold. They could actually die from complicatons from it. I feel people that have colds and stuff like that - stay home!
