I don't like Rory.

First off let me preface this post with: "I don't know Rory as a person" so for all you people who want to get mad and defend Rory because he's a personal friend of yoursShut up. I COMPLETELY do not care. Lately they've been letting Rory on the mic more and more and all I hear out of him is who he knows from the Hamptons, how great he is and how much better he is than Al. I was listening to him and Al go at it about who was going to win the fight and Rory made me so sick to my stomach I turned off the radio at like 9:30 and was so disgusted I didn't turn it back on. He's just got this rich boy "I'm better" vibe going on and it really wrecks my listening. He's not funny, he's not interesting and he's extremely full of himself. All I can do is go by what I hear on the radio and he sounds like a really smug dirtbag. Am I alone in this? Does Rory turn anyone else off when he gets on the radio?

Rory is the Chris Harvard "I *AM* better than you and and I *CAN* back it up" heel.

Every radio show needs someone you can hate. They are just exchanging Al's heel mannerisms for Rory's, and it's a refreshing change.

I like Rory on the show because he contributes hilarious production material. Remember that song made from Billy's noises? That was Rory. Remember the Frighty-Fright Song: What About Me. Rory. And, of course, all the creative drops.

I think he's a complete douchebag of a human being ( :) ), but he contributes significantly to the sound of the show and would be greatly missed.

That's not the case at all. Smug simply isn't entertaining to me. If I was talking to you and 60% of what you said to me was about how much better you are than the town schmuck, 20% was about who you are and who you know in your fancy neighborhood, 10% was about how the other people in your neighborhood are trash and the final 10% was entertaining drunk conversation, I would hate you too. I'm just not digging his air of superiority.

I'm not a big fan either. It's one thing to have a character or a bit on a show that people don't like. It's another to have one who ruins the show for you completely. And that's what Rory does for me. I will admit I do enjoy the things he does FOR the show as far as behind the scenes goes. His on-air stuff is stomach turning. Course we all know who ever loses this match will not be entirely off the show, just off the air. Having said that, I definitely would not miss hearing Rory's nasaly drone on the radio.
