I went down to Wildwood this past week for a convention for an organization that I'm involved in and got nicely reamed while I was down there.

I've been involved with the organization for more than a decade, and threw my hat in the ring (pardon the fight pun) for state office. Needless to say, "The Machine" rolled again, and a group of guys who have been running the organization into the ground kept control over it. We had guests from the national level who came to me and told me that the election was obviously stacked against me, and that this will set back our state for another couple of years in the eyes of the National.

I've worked in this organization for better than 10 years, and have put a lot of time into offices and committees, fundraisers and the like. A couple of guys that I worked with also got reamed this past weekend, and are also extemely pissed off. I'm angry because all my hard work means nothing in an election, only making "the right friends" apparently does. The machine got me.

I want to thank the guys from the board who gave me encouragement when I talked to them about my upcoming election. Furie, Zath, Erole, RFM thanks for believing in me. For those of you who were wondering about why I wasn't drinking at get-togethers, that was the primary reason. I was trying to keep myself clear-headed to work on my campaign. Well, the booze is again flowing, and I'm ready for my next beer. I will also remain one of the biggest "thorns-in-the-side" to this "new" administration.

Sorry for the rant. I needed an outlet, and to thank those for their kind words earlier.

The "off-the-wagon" wilee

Wilee, I know you were preparing for this ever since our dinner at Jillians. I'm sorry it went so bad. But now you can be the most vocal resistance, point out their faults, and make your self a visible thorn. Turn this into a blessing in disguise. You can still be a leader you just won't have the title.

Tough break, Wilee - sounds frustrating. Hopefully, the other guy will get what's coming.

Pray for Mojo.

Wow Wilee...I am sorry. I wished I spoke to you alot more and knew what was going on. Maybe I could have helped somehow.
Well..remember..that which does not kill us and all that.
Keep your chin up.

Hosp hit it (once again) This does not end a thing, not if you don't want it to. If the machine is still running, a vocal opponent riding their ass and pointing out the obvious problems inherent in their closed knit circle will pay off dividens for you...but more importantly - for everyone.
You are the better man, and have the better idea. You see through the bull crap, and want what is best. It's what we like to call - NOBLE.
I personally ask you to keep on this. I am no where near what is going on there, but it is the principle, the idea that moves me to stand behind your cause.
Stay true. Because inevitably the truth will prevail. I respect you for your endeavors.

That's right Hosp- I talked with you, Knocked and Gaia about it a Jillians. Sorry I forgot about you guys. There are several people that have told me to stay involved, both here and in the organization. I've talked with a guy who I work on some committees with, and we're going to be dictating some change. The chairman from last year did absolutely squat, and we did all the work. That will change this year. we willl make sure that he will not be chairman this year.

I dislike the fact that we work hard, raise money and do our best to help out everyone, and this group has been using it as their own personal hang-out club, doing their best to keep people ignorant of what is going on, then chastising them when they ask questions. I've been a thorn in the side for the past 3-4 years at the state, and believe me, I've just hit major prick mode.
