ok, this has been going on for quite some time now. when she falls asleep, she starts making a grunting/growling noise. and sometimes its just straight up snoring.

so is there something in my dogs nose? should she go to the vet? is she having some weird doggie dream?

Butters and my lil nutty buddy, rub the doggies belly?

How about putting a Rich Vos tape where he sleeps. That's what I do when I need sleep.

Opie: Come on now. He's not even hear to defend himself.

LuLu-At least you didn't sleep in the same room with her for 4 years! lol :) It never woke me up though. The other stuff is dreaming. You can tell she's in REM sleep b/c you can see her eyes moving sometimes (very freaky). She's old, :( let her snore....I'm sure she's fine.

My dog not only snores, she also farts in her sleep, moves all limbs and occassionally makes a sound of contentment.

Dogs dream (although not in the way we do). Some of the movements made while sleeping seem to be linked to these dreams.

I'm sure my dog has a very vivid dream life cause she sleeps about 23 hours a day. LOL.

It's a good question about whether snoring in dogs is indicative of some type of sleep apnea problem. I doubt that it is, b/c the struture of dogs pallate, tonge, throat and sinus cavity is different than ours.

Nonetheless, it's almost time for Lucky to get her annual innoculations. I'll ask the vet for a more informed opinion.
