I fully support Southwestern Airlines and its policy on the obese. Make them buy two tickets, the fat fucks. I'm sick and tired of fat people whining about the stigma of thier condition...the prejudice against "thier kind"...the discrimination against "the obese people". You are not a race. People who take up two plane seats should have to pay for two plane seats unless they can prove thier obesity is a result of a medical problem which prevents them from losing weight. LAZY people who eat FAST FOOD everyday and NEVER EXERCISE do not deserve any special rights because they are lazy.

And while I'm on the subject, fat is not beautiful. I hate it. I hate it on me. Being unhealthy is the worst thing you can do to yourself.

Take pride in your fat? Bullshit. That's an easy way for the lazy to justify thier lifestyle. How about take pride in yourself and treat your body right.

Obesity is an epidemic in this country, but its so easily avoidable with a little will power and some dedication that I wonder why its even an epidemic.

I've flown on southwest and i'm big. But i can still fit into the seats.

They should charge for two seats. Its only fair enough.

And i'm I the only one who really hate groups like NAfaa who say you should be happy and stay fat??

I'm all for self confidence, but its all up to us to lose weight.

If anything this should motivate people to lose pounds.

Right on Jeff.

This fat teacher at my high school gets unlimited use of the elevator and 2 teachers assistants to help her cause shes so damn fat. She waddles, has a walker, is the only teacher authorized to have a microwave in her room.

Shes a waste of air, time, space (literally), money and any other resource we all need to survive.

why the hell should she get TA's to hand out papers because shes to fat to get up on her own to do it.

I hated her as a teacher and hope she has a heart attack, or chokes on a ham sandwich, mama cass style.

Lent, there is a difference between overweight and morbidly obese. I'm not talking about people with a gut and some pounds to lose. I'm talking about the people SO FAT THEY TAKE UP TWO SEATS ON AN AIRPLANE. Ugh, gross...

hey if you're fat, you're fat - good for you. But don't expect special treatment when you take up two seats on an airline - then you're infringing on other people's rights. If you take up two seats - you should have to PAY for both of them.

I've had to sit next to some humongous people on airplanes and it SUCKED. They took up half of MY seat.

Why do these people have an advocate group? Instead of putting their enegry into this, they should try waddling over to the gym. Admittedly, I'm not the top physical specimen, but I can fit into any space I need to, and I can go anyplace I need to without the use of a lil' rascal. Fuck 'em. Let the airlines sell them gym memberships with the boarding passes.

Some of these fucks ride the bus in the morning and there's nothing worse than being forced into the corner of the aisle because these people have to take up some of my fucking seat.

According to FoxNews, these "Plus sized people" are "encouraged" to buy the extra seat at time of purchase, so they get an immediate discount. As far as what happens if fat bastard refuses then needs more space or they buy online or not in person, that's what I'm wondering. By the way, how about 1/2 price for midgets like me?

Unfortunately, I think it is a reality that obesity is here to stay (unless someone comes out with a fat pill that works).

I think airlines, buses and trains should design seats that are bigger. I am not fat, but took a plane to London once, and my knees were practically touching my chin. I do have long legs.

Obesity is a complex issue to conquer. We have become a very sedentary society. We drive everywhere rather than walk. Sit at computers and cable t.v. for hours on end. Everytime I turn around in the stores and fast food places it seems everything is getting bigger - the bottles of Coke and other foods, the "supersizing of everything", etc.

Diabetes, I heard, has reached epidemic proportions in the U.S. It is a complex issue.

im an overweight person, and ill be the first to tell you the reason i got overweight is cause i got fucking LAZY.. i guess i can understand obesity in people who have problems with glads and the weight is due to a heath problem.. but jesus even those people could fucking walk or something before they become fucking bed ridden...
am i the only one that when you think of obesity you think of the movie "whats eatting gilbert grape" ?

This is going to be a nation of sedentary Jabba The Hut's...reminds me of this sci fi show i saw where aliens attacked and we were all too fat to fight back and were farmed for food like cows...i laughed my ass off...i think it was outer limits or somethign...

Ticket agents can "make a judgment call" and ask an obese person whether he or she usually takes up more than one seat, Harbin said. If the answer is yes, the person is asked to buy two seats.

Spy TV should do something with this. But do it to normal sized people just to fuck with them.

I am a big fat F-er. well not really. a little heavy is more like it. but i have never had a problem fitting in a plane seat. this is not something MOST people can't control. i think if oyu have a medical reason (ie unavoidable glandular disorder) you shouldn't have to pay. but if you just really like wendy's and pizza... tuff shit so do I!!!! i get my fat ass on an excersize bike, at on my weight bench almost everyday. and its working... sorrtta. but either way i can sit on a plane! i am alost

If you been on southwest the seats are pretty comfy and roomy for most people.

I fully support southwest's decision, but NAFAA (the morbidly obese support group)of course is going whine and whine....

If you have a med condition, you should recieve an equal opportunity to work - if your hearts in the right place and your outlook is exciting and positive for teaching. no teacher should be working with students if they can't move because of their chompers. I'm a teacher. I make sure my students play hard, run, jump, and know what foods are good and what foods suck. I hope that teacher of yours pops her side and deflates like a balloon. Hopefully she won't be in an airplane or an elevator when it happens.

ironically, i was as a young lass. my sister's large friend sat on me while watching a new kids concert on tv. i still have nightmares... more about the new kids than the being sat on

A few week back I saw a show about the fat organization on the discovery channel. I like watching stuff like that because it makes me feel better about my weight (not skinny, but nowhere near those... people)
