Surprised no one has started a thread about this God awful show but I wanted to mention something for those who have watched the first 3 episodes.

Of the first group of 10... the two females selected are worthy to advance but Jim V did not belong in there. Chris was ten times better than him. For those who have seen this, do you think he advanced because everyone who voted felt bad for the way he was treated by Simon or because of his parent situation? It was obviously not on talent cuz he showed nothing doing his solo on Tuesday.

So what do you think about this and do you that it may be rigged?

PS: I hate the Coca-Cola references every five seconds! Can you be anymore obvious?

The show is definitely entertaining. Watching those kids get the hearts broken is hilarious in some small sadistic way.
I don't think the show is fixed, but Jim winning last night definitely doesn't say much aboot Americas sense of good taste.
That kid was not exactly the best singer of the bunch and not pin-up material either. THe fact that he won was the result of a "Simon backlash". Everyonehates Simon, so they voted for the person that would make HIM angry.

I know everyone makes fun of that show...but I'm willing to bet that those who hate it,have never actually seen it.
It's definitely qualifies as guilty pleasure TV.

The show is definitely entertaining. Having it live and watching their uncut uncensored (for the most part) reactions is what makes this show off the hook.

You mean the 17 year old chicada? She looked 40 in my opinion. Having your dreams crush as I have said prior makes this true CRINGE. You noticed at the very end of the show, the Whitney Houston wannabe was wailing and did not celebrate with the final three.

Next week will be solid. I'm banking on AJ Gil (I think that's his name), the Hispanic kid who looks like a shorter Jonny B. That Miami chicada is foine. I think she has it all going on. We'll see if she performs to her abilities under the lights.

Hopefully Chris gets the nod from the judges for the Finals.

Leo, I think they had a much better ten in this round.

I was very disappointed with AJ Gil, he didn't have the impact I expected. He lost his edge after his inspring rendition of the National Anthem.

Alexis Long, the 17 year old singer, my favorite btw, is gonna make it because of her look and her karaoke stylings. :)

Alexandra Bahelier, the Hispanic hottie did good but nothing that really amazing.

Can't wait to see how this turns out tonight.

I agree much better quality in the ten. but the florida hottie i think bombed, I think she got to affected by the crap she been reading and she must have been worried what the public though. I liked kelly she is a spnuky and fun one and think she would be easy to mold an image. I also must say I really enjoy when Justin sings he has a very smooth voice and knows how to play to the cameras so he can easly be liek they say the "x" factor i just dont like his hair lol

Definitely the best reality/game show thus far. Who cares about stupid alliances and tribes and all that happy horseshit? This is immediate gratification. You sang, you sucked, and the judges let you have it. Thank for playing, next please.

Last nights platoon of wanna-bes was waaay better than last weeks bunch. A few of them sucked, but the good ones were AMAZING. The white chick who sang "Respect" was amazing. Justin is obvioulsy being groomed to be the star of the show. He gets the most screen time and he went on last. The producers of the show know that he's gonna win it.
If he doesn't go all the way, then America is Tone deaf.

Hahhaha...this show is getting better if anyone is stil tuning in. The ladies are running away with the show and AJ "I resemble Jon B" Gil finally got tossed. He just couldn't compete with the others.

Let me do a rundown of the remaining finalists (in no particular order) for those who haven't tuned in and want to give this cringe tv a chance.

Christina Christian: Simon loves her, solid voice but has difficulty staying on key and has a marketable name.

Kelly Clarkson: Unbelievable voice and range, the first time I heard her I didn't think she had it in her. She's got the cute factor too. Had her "stalker" run up on the stage last Tuesday, gave her flowers and a hug. She didn't mind much, lol. One of my final four.

Tamyra Gray: First impressive of her was the second coming of Alicia Keys in voice and look. A definite Final 4 competitor and has the entire package to be the American Idol.

Justin Guarini: This guy I still can't figure his appea. The next Justin Timberlake? He is being groomed as the next pop icon. Nice soulful voice but don't see it. The women love this guy, he'll advance easily into the Final 4.

R.J. Helton: Next on the chopping block from my point of view. Lucky he made it this far. Mid range but solid performer.

Nikki McKibbin: Single mother who is the wildchild of the bunch. I love her look, red hair is a plus and she can sing like nobodies business. She needs to stick to the edge she had from the beginning to be a contender. Was on the outs last week but I think she'll be near the Final 4.

Ryan Starr: What a name! Solid voice but needs to chose more appropriate music for her look. Could be great someday... but on this edition on American Idol, I doubt it.

I just finished watching last nights show, and i must say in my opinion justin sucked big time.
kelly clarkson still one of my favs she is very consistent and i love her voice,
but on this installement i literally got weak in my knees and dropped my soda when christina christian sang aint no sunshine, i think she hit it big time she had the sex apeal going and wow she sang that song amazingly...i cant download it yet lol i cant find it on the net yet lol but she took yesterdays show by a landslide in my opinion.

I must admit the first couple episodes were very entertaining due to simon's criticism and taking the kids hearts, ripping them out and spitting on them... but I believe now they are just hammering this thing into the ground. Damn, this show kicks ass! Now that they've weeded out the bad singers, it's become a real battle between the good vocalists. PLUS, they are adding more and more time to each singers performance, which is kinda cool.
Some of those singers had no friggin' business being up there, but all the kids who are still in it are better vocalists than just about everyone on the radio. Except for Nikki. She's not a great singer, but she is pretty hot.

As for the people who think it's the same every week. I'm curious...what did you think this sow was gonna be?? It's a singing competition and each week, the singers compete. Period.
Every Baseball game is exactly the same. Same goes for every Football game (with it's whopping six whole minutes of action per game!!).
This is true competition. No bullshit. No handicaps. No pointspreads. No over/unders. No alliances. No tribes. And no challenges.
I hope the show branches off into Hard Rock & HipHop catagories.

Last night was a fucking travesty of justice! How in the fuckin' world did Tamayra Gray get eliminated before Nikki McKibbin and Sideshow Bob's, Kid from Kid n Play's and Beeker's love child!

I wouldn't worry about these singers too much...whoever wins will have the stigma of being the "American Idol" winner for the rest of their life...you'd almost rather succeed through actual hard work and dedication over the years, because it's going to be hard to get any respect this way.
