mulholland drive (even though it's old, i guess might contain some spoilers)

ok, so i saw mulholland drive not too long ago, and... i'm confused. i'm usually very good at "getting" movies, i enjoy movies that take some thought and effort. hell, i'm usually the one people come to when they didn't understand something. but this one i just dont get. i mean, i enjoyed the bulk of it, and thought the lesbian scenes were super hot, but i dont know what the hell happened.

i spoke to a friend who claimed he had it all figured out. he basically just subscribed to your good old "a lot of it was a dream" theory. which i guess makes sense, but it seems kind of like a cop out to me.

so... does anyone out there know what really happened and could explain it to me? or, even better, someone who would be willing to discuss it, rather than just school me?

Don't feel bad... I tried to start a thread for the movie Salton Sea with val kilmer, and the thread was removed the next day. The movie was only in 2 theaters in all of NY but it was the best flick I've seen this year, so I wanted to let everybody know to go see it. I just sit quietly now, and read others that post. I have been humbled. I am not worthy of the thread-start. <P>
