OK, so he sounded like his spaceship just landed during the classic interview, but Hauer has a very impressive resume in his film career, breaking out in the critically acclaimed "Soldier Of Orange" to many other great flicks. His role in "The Hitcher" still scares me, and in "Nighthawks" he played the perfect scumbag "Eurotrash" Terrorist.
I have a feeling that Rutger was on heavy meds..not a bad thing. He was as calm and docile as "Mr. Rogers".
I look forward to hearing the replay again during vacation time, it will never get old.
I think "Murder At The Superbowl" has found it's villian when casting begins!

Based on last week's interview, I rented "Blade Runner" again. Hauer is great, terrifying yet sympathetic. His final death scene up on the roof is really touching. "I've seen things. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."
Pray for Mojo.
and in "Nighthawks" he played the perfect scumbag "Eurotrash" Terrorist.
He was cool as "Wolfgar".

He's such a good actor I almost felt compelled to call in and ask how he managed to play a dual role as he did in "LadyHawk".

When Rutger said "we are going on vacation" he was quouting lyrics from Frank Zappa's "Billy The Mountain", from his "Just Another Band From LA" LP.

That dude is crazier than a shit house rat, but he is a pretty good character actor.

He would have been a great "Bond villain".

Am I the only person who has ever seen Rutger Hauer's "Wedlock" (sometimes called "Deadlock")? It's the best late-night cable movie ever. There, I said it.
It's about a prison where all the inmates wear exploding collars. Rutger's second best, after Blade Runner.
Go Peacocks!

He also did a nice job in a movie he did with Matthew Broderick. He was a man during the day and a wolf at night. His love was a hawk during the day and lady during the evening. In the end they broke the spell during an eclipse(i believe)
Can't remember the name...
