it simply didn't pan out. O&A
made short and uninspired
appearances.

what happened?

I thougt Anthony was cool. He
did spend some time with R&F.
However, Opie is a dick.

I want to believe...so I do

Why didnt they call the middays Ron and Fez and the nights AFRO. The AFRO zone only happened at night or the FAR Zone.

Anthony hung a lot, and him w/ Rutger Hauer was priceless. It doesn't matter who was there, it was 7 days of hilarious, battle fatigued, radio.

Jeers to me, Nerts on you!

I like O&A of course but I think that Anthony is even better when he's on R&F. I think the 3 of them have a great chemistry.

I thought it was cool that anthony contributed his time and talent for the shows that he was on,The best being his great dice with the bladerunner guy. The O in AFRO is MIA which really was no surprise to me.

I don't want to make it seem like I'm bashing O & A, but the fact of the matter is, is that Opie is just not as funny as Ron, Fez, and Anthony. Ron and Fez have the perfect chemistry, and Anthony adds well to that. Therefore, I did not particularly miss Opie during the "AFRO" shows.

Maybe that's why Opie doesn't show up for AFRO's too much. Obviously, he's a man who knows radio. He knows what works and what doesn't. Perhaps he thinks that inserting another voice into the mix, when Ron, Fez and Ant do work so well together, will screw it all up. R&F give him credit for helping their show out behind the scenes and bust his balls on air a little about being a Prima Donna. Or maybe he's just a dickhead, I don't know.

Good point. Opie's forte is his willingness to say anything. He's not really that funny, but he's not afraid to make anyone cry. I think the kids call it "cringe radio." I'm not too big on it, but it takes different strokes to move the world. Anthony, on the other hand, is a natural. R&F are much more about the riffs and the "comedy pyramid." Ant's sense of humor fits in perfectly. Ant apparently doesn't wake up early enough for the AFRO show, so he made up for it by staying late a couple of times. The Rutger Hauer show was a classic.

Until Greg can take the lead from Ron Howard as THE best Opie ever, I don't think he deserves a spot in our beloved AFRO radio. DOWN WITH AFRO, LONG LIVE ARF RADIO! Here comes the dawg...

I think that maybe the reason
Opie stayed off R & F is because
there were a lot of listeners
involved, especially later in the
week. He has said that he's been
having problems with stalker
types. I think he probably didn't
feel like being stared at, and
creeped out by the message
borders
One more thing, I was in the
area the other day (No, I'm not a
stalker), and I saw stalker Patty
sitting there right by the Brooklyn
Diner. So believe what they are
saying when they tell you that
she is fucking SICK.

I don't really care if he's not funny. I still say he should have showed up, hung out a little, as a show of respect for the boys.

I agree with se7en. opie showed a total lack of repect for the boys. Anthony was cool and put an effort in.

Opie's just a megalomaniac.

Shit, I think Ron, Rob, Mike, Buzz and Fez would be fine...you just get Don out of there and thinks would be hunky-dory.

That "cringe radio" is a real sad
attempt on being different and
trying to shock. I think Opie
didn't do the show because he is
an asshole not because he
knows radio and understands it
just wouldn't work.
Anthony seems like he is a cool
guy...not always trying to
"shock" like that butt balls
Opie.

I want to believe...so I do

Maybe Opie just isn't as good
friends with R & F as Anthony is.

That don't make him a bad
person...
