That tie stuff was bullshit. Maybe if it's tied after 9 innings next year they could have the MLB equivalent of a shoot out. Pick 5 guys from each team, give them one swing each against one of the pitchers from the Home Run Derby and which ever team hits the most home runs wins. If it's still tied, then continue on, pair by pair, until one guy hits a homer and the other one doesn't. It's a lousy way to decide a game but at least you know ou'll have a winner.
