if they go on strike again will you come back and be a fan again.. this season i have seen more games then at any other time.. i hope to see a bunch more.. but if they go on strike again this could be the straw that breaks baseball.. the jump in pay for the last 20 years is fucking nuts.. i don't know where i will be on this if they strike but i know this if the minor league teams are still there, they and the independent leagues will be the only ones who will profit from this crap.. how much money do you really need to be paid to play a game.. come on this is sport made for children.. what do you think.....

I was disenchanted back in '94 when they went on strike. Took me a couple years to get back into baseball. If it happenes again, I dunno if I could get into it again till it's time to take my 2 month old nephew to a game.

Exactly. Bunch of crybabies. If they strike I think they should make them stand in a real picket line and go hungry like some real people do when they strike for real reasons.
I would stop watching.

I'm still pissed off about the strike in '94. Canceling the World Series is heresy. The only reason I'm still watching baseball is because I like the Mets so much.
Football starts in September and hockey runs from October thru mid June so the only way I might possibly care about a strike is if it happens from mid June thru August. Even then, I can still find other things to do, like MetroStars games.

My thoughts exactly. I watch for the love of the game, not the selfish players.

average salary rise from
$51,500 in 1976 to $2.38 million on opening day this year.
now these average baseball players average 2million a year and are complaining.. what the fuck.... if you play for 10years that is 20 million to play baseball... i just don't understand what more they could want... this just insane.... bring on the replacements.. i think rick reed pitched during 94 strike,so he would have to do it again.. i don't think he has been allowed to join the players union....

Why keep on paying these greedy ass players & owners salaries??
Go to a minor league ball park near you!!
If they strike again for as long as they did in 94, i dont think i'll be back at Shea or any ballpark.

"go to a minor league park near you."

The best thing now is that minor league parks are everywhere. They even have games televised on cable. I've been a huge Yankee fan forever, but this is getting out of hand. Both players and ownership use the fans for their leverage, and then WE have to foot the bill. TV rights, tix sales, concessions, we should go on strike for higher wages just to support these millionaires and billionaires.

Check out minor league games, they're popping up everywhere, they're cheap, and greed gets checked at the door.

I hate baseball. This only makes me hate the players more.
Of course, you know I blame the Yankees for this.

the only problem with that is if by being part of MLB they might be forced to strike as well... go for the independent leagues... Newark Bears, sommerset Patriots and i think AC has a team as well... Well here you go everyone site for the independent baseball league of this area..

I'm tired of the players getting everything they want. If I was playing, I certainly wouldn't consider even striking because the league might wise up and implement a salary cap. Then you'd really hear these 100 million $ players start crying.

Since '94, i've been totally disinterested with baseball and have not watched a game or been to a game since.
They simply don't care about the fans at all.
fuck 'em!

Its been my opinion for a long time that this game's salary structures is what was ruined it on a professional level. New Yorkers love thier Yankees because they are so good...that's because we can afford to buy the great players.
Free agents killed all sports.
If you want a good baseball game, take a ferry over to Staten Island and watch the SI Yanks play for the love of the game.

Cough cough..BROOKLYN CYCLONES!
But seriously, this is an example of capitalism, plain and simple. 6 dollar beers, 5 dollar hot dogs, you name it, it's all about supply and demand.
People are like sheep, they still go. I say stay home.
Send a message to the scumbag owners and players. Just look at the Cablevision fiasco. Millions STILL can't see The Yankees. THEY DON"T CARE!
Why should we?
