New Crayon Color

Here's a question that I have been asked and wonder about...originally a friend of mine saw it online.

What colour would a new colour be?- If a new colour was discovered on a different planet that was totally different to anything we have seen before, what would it look like?

SUNNDOGGY8 - I replied the day you posted. I don't know why it's not here.

Anyway, with our limited ability to see colors it would be highly improbable for a new color to be "discovered" that we were capable of seeing.

If an alien race were capable of seeing in the ultraviolet spectrum, they could describe it to us, but we still wouldn't be able to see it. Lacking a frame of reference, we would most likely use whatever word the people capable of seeing it would use.

This is why I'm so scared of clowns. Personally, I think Pooter had a bad experience with a clown as a child, as I did! :(
