Question About Asian Women

I have often thought about this.. Will there be/or is there a shortage of Asian women for Asian men? It seems a lot of non-Asian men marry Asian women, but not many non-Asian women marry Asian men. Also, in China, women are only entitled to have one child. And unfortunately, the reality is, is that women there tend to abort the female babies and prefer males. What do you think? Will there be a shortage of Asian women for Asian men?

Dark Hippie: The problem with your theory, though, is that, from what I have noticed, very few non-Asian women marry Asian men. So, the Asian man's efforts of leaving the country to marry doesn't make sense either. I may be wrong. Your comments?

In China, the problem isn't that the women are marrying non-Asians or foreigners in general, it's that the social preference for a male heir combined with the one-child-per-family rule has lead to a majority of families restricting themselves to one male child. Often, women will abort their child upon learning that the fetus is female. They woman will have the doctor use a sonogram to determine the sex of the child, even though this practice is illegal (the law is routinely ignored). In the countryside where access to quality medical care is hard to find, women will sometimes kill the female baby after it's born. This has led to a situation in which hundreds of thousands of Chinese males find themselves unable to find a prospective bride. Women will sometimes even be kidnapped and forced to marry. The situation has caused concern outside of China, as the thousands or restless males find themselves with no options other than to join the military or create social havoc and unrest. There is worry that the large influx of males into the military will cause China to go into a needless war just as a distraction from the social problems their one-child policy has caused. Personally, I don't really have a problem with attempts to control population growth, but this shows some of the possible negative side-effects.

i actually find this to be a really interesting topic.. not so much about the shortage of asian women for the asian men, but the phenomenon of asian women coupling with non-asian men.

i have noticed this pattern a lot myself. it's generally white males with asian women. i actually have a coupel of friends who fall into this category as well. and, while i dont have a problem with people being attracted to whoever they like, it's more than that. these men are ONLY interested in asian women. i'm not sure where this stems from exactly. the only common factor i've found in these men is that they had little luck with women when they were younger.

one of my closest friends is an aisian female, and she's noticed the same pattern, as well. she actually doesn't like dating white men because of it. now, she's fine with a white man who just happens to be interested in her, but not ones who are onyl interested in aisian women and are fascinated by aisian culture. she finds it to be insulting, like they are only interested in her because she is aisian. and, from what she's said, she knows quite a few other aisian women who feel the same way

i dont mean to offend anyone by this, if i have.. but i've always found this really intruiging (if slightly off topic). i'd be interested to hear anyone else's take on this

I have heard this from Asian women also. In fact, I believe Too Cute expressed a similar sentiment as well.

I personally don't understand why they would be insulted.

Asain women defintealy have unique physical characteristics that many men are drawn to... and I don't understand why that is "insulting" -- if any Asian women could explain this, i would appreciate it.

I never said I was insulted, just that it was annoying. I personally don't find asian men attractive, just as probably most caucasian women don't find asian men attractive. Why should I?

There are good looking Asian men. The ones I have met have always been kind and well mannered too.

This would probably apply to me, and like Tom Poo, I'm a bit confused as to why they would be insulted / annoyed by it.

I do profess a love for Asian culture. I love the culture first and formost. AS A RESULT of this love for the culture, I have obtained an appreciation for the beauty of all Asian people. And hey, since I'm heterosexual, I tend to focus more upon the females than the men. So I have a great appreciation for Asian women in particular. Not JUST because their Asian, though. I mean, I love women in general, and I've dated women of many different ethnicities. It's just that personally, I find Asian women to be the most attractive and the most pleasant. Some of that's speaking from experience.
