About rf.net parties

Folks, we love the fact that everyone gets along and loves getting together. Even us mods come out to them. But if it isn't posted by board administration and given a nifty Event icon and/or uses the word Official, then it is <b>not</b> a rf.net party, it is a party organized by an rf.net member. As such, it should not represent the board in any way, shape or form.

Since these parties are not part of rf.net, and you should not be representing the board. This means no advertising outside the board using the rf.net name and you should not be calling radio programs saying that there's an rf.net party, when you don't have the right to represent us.

If you do wish to make it an "Official" event, please contact board administration before going ahead and using the board's name.

Jon, youre yelling at a "retart" for god's sake. And I for one believe we do represent the board wherever we go/whatever we do. For example, if one of us wins the Nobel prize, the papers would say "RONFEZ.NET BOARD MEMBER WINS NOBEL PRIZE" and when we die, the obit will say, "survived by over 7800 RonFez.net board members." I understand that the administrators and moderators and owners of rf.net are trying to avoid liability -

but, lets say something very horrible does happen, and the law enforment agents (such as the FBI or CIA) were brought in, and you have 100 people together whose only common connection is ronfez.net, that was organized through this message board (even though it was or was not sanctioned by the authortative figures) -

I think your going to have a hard time disprooving that it is NOT a ronfez.net event.

For example: Lets say board member Bob gets arrested.

Lets say Bob only has 117 posts and really doesn't know any one, and this is his first time out.

Then lets say he says he heard about this party through ronfez.net.

then detective Bill checks out the website. And see 150 posts about where this party is, who is going to be there, how to get under-agers in, where to meet.

I am pretty sure wheather you tag it "unofficial" or "official" is going to be a null point.

the party is still organized through your website and by a member of it - which seems to me will still hold you accountable.

personally I don't care guys, but if the administrators are truly concerned about this, then I suggest you don't even allow "unofficial" party notices even be posted.

I don't know alot about law, but I do know if someone wants to sue you, I assure you they will work the law towards there favor - and a simple tag of "official" or "unofficial" isn't going to relieve you of all liability.

you make a great point tom but i think jon's more concerned with people calling up ron and fez or other radio shows and saying hey everyone should come to the ronfez.net party when it's not an official party.

i could post hey we should all meet for ice cream and then i could call ron and fez and be like big ass ice cream party with ron and fez.net! i think that's what he's talking about, using the name to get recognition.

I think by calling a party "Official" means it was sanctioned by Ron Bennington, Fez Whatley and/or WNEW personally. If "Bob" gets killed at an "Official Ron and Fez Event", who do you think his family is going to sue? They will go straight to WNEW, then Carter gets fucked because someone on the board called it "Official".

Listen people, it's plan and simple....do NOT involve Ron and Fez and/or the Ron and Fez show with your get together.

We would like to keep a friendly relationship with the show and if people are calling them just to plug a gathering, it can get to be annoying and a bit of a hassle.

If we call it official, we take responsibility. By calling a radio show to announce this, we don't know who will show up or what they will do. If you bring the board's name into this, you are implying we take responsibility for your gathering.

We are willing to put anything you want in that calendar. In the past, we have promoted charity events and other things that we were not associated with. We also allow members to have banner ads, but we aren't responsible for what's on those sites.



And there are things planned every week for the next couple weeks from board members. How quickly do you think R&F would annoyed if ppl called in to announce each and every one?
