hi hk... i know that everyone was traumatized to some degree by the events of 9/11. and i know that, especially at the beginning, it was really normal for people to have trouble sleeping, nightmares, etc etc because of it. i had all that, and then it seemed to get better, as i suppose it should.

recently, however, it's started up again. i've had a couple of 9/11 related dreams in the past week or so. dreams about terrorists, war, crashing ariplanes, bombs, etc etc. so i guess i'm not really past it yet. i was telling my mother about the dreams, and she said that she heard on the news or whatnot that, if people are still really traumatized about 9/11, they might want to seek some therapy. is this true? do you think i should consider it? thanks for any advice...

in my opinion, since ur open to the idea of therapy, going could only do good. i'd suggest you'd seek it soon.

good luck...

You may be having a reaction to the events of 9/11 called Post Truamatic Stress.

It has affected many people, as is aggrevated by the media that tells us every day that another plot is afoot.

You can greatly benefit from therapy.

No worries Ari, most of us could use therapy whether we know it or not.

I know how you feel with the new about the development at ground zero I started having nightmares about 9/11 again and talking about it saying what's on your mind and not holding your emotions generally helps at least it does for me. And it depends on what you would could consider therapy. Sometimes just talking to other is a form of therapy.
