Does anyone know if it's true that these cartoons have been basically banned from T.V. due to "racist overtones?" They site the drinking and siestas as detrimental to hispanics.

I smash my fists into my face. I can feel it when I close my eyes. And this is good.

I don't know if it's true, but I was actually thinking about that cartoon the other day. Then I thought they might not show it anymore for the reasons you stated. But the other Looney Toons cartoons drink sometimes and they still have Yosemite Sam. The ultimate redneck who is on all the pick up trucks down here shooting his gun and holding a confederate flag. I wouldn't be suprised if it was because of the "stereotype" of Mexicans. Just like people want to change the Cleveland Indians logo b/c it is derrogatory. I hate PC stuff.

There is a line that can be crossed, but use common sense, I don't want my actions to be dictated by PC rules.

Has anyone noticed that in the OLD Tom and Jerry cartoons they redubbed the voice of the "mammy" character?

Have you noticed when they show the older cartoons (pre 60's I guess) they are so hacked up that if you hadn't seen it the old way you probably couldn't follow the plot? Most times I sit there mumbling "what happened to this part" or "that's not what they said". I would love to see an uncut DVD collection of all the old Warner Brothers cartoons.

This country is getting too PC for it own good. Sometimes shouldn't become a racial or politcial issue especially cartoon characters
