It is quite obvious with the ticket-master mishap paired with the ill timed O & A vaction (not being able to plug Norton live for Count Basey) put Norton in a corner and needed a live format to plug the Basey event. Billy Stapels on the undercard was and is the 2 live weeks of plugging Jimmy's show. Simple.

Hey, I'm in a small band, UNHALLOWED(vote for us), and you take your breaks where you can get them!

Billy would be a FOOL to even have taken TRIPLE the cash he's getting paid instead of performing. The notariety and exposure is worth it. Even if everyone heckles him, his name on a big show is GREAT for him.

Good luck Billy. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that your act is A LOT funnier than what you were forced to do on the fly for Make Me Laugh. Plus, we can't see him.

I'd also be willing to say that over 80% of today's stand up WOULD NOT be any good if you couldn't SEE the performer. That's why very few people put out CD's of their acts anymore. Dennis Lereay (spelling, Sorry) is the ONLY comedian I can think of off the top of my head who's CD is worth anything.

Leary's great when he isn't dancing the sadly dead corpse of Bill Hicks across the stage as his "act." Which, unfortunately, is never. Then again, "The Job" is one of the best shows on TV. Then again, his new show is called "Project: Searchlight", which agains indicates the man can't have an original idea to save his life. On the other hand, "Remote Control" is the greatest show in the history of TV ever.
