Okey I buy the idea that Batman has people he's saved, stuntmen or construction people or whomever help to design the batmobile and his other ground and air vehicles...but who built the Batcave? All that work on the cave and the computers and the access to it from different parts of Wayne Manor...who the hell built the thing in the first place?

Sunny!
This is a great observation.
I agree with you on the "workers" and all, working on the Batmobile, etc.
Would it have been possible that the cave itself was already there, but then modified for Bruce Wayne by some 'character' we haven't heard about yet ?
Or did Batman summon the help of others, much like Aquaman does with Fish.
( maybe Batman did a sort of bartering thing, with another SuperHero )
Now, I'm talking crazy.

actually Sunndoggy, chances are being that DC was always very unrealistic with thier comics, chances are the Batcave just kinda appeared. Thats why i like marvel better, thier characters are much more realistic.

See, I thought that at first too Elle Quinn, but then I remembered that Batman was sort of a loner...not really big on asking anyone for help. And even if it was there already...why would it be? I need more info here...
In this day and age would Batman be able to keep his batcave location a secret? I think the media would be all over him.
And I don't think he would make Alfred do it...they had a more fatherly relationship.

Elle Quinn, you bring up a good idea though. I wonder why they never gave Batman the power to maybe control bats? That seems like an obvious power that he would somehow develop in someway...i mean, then he would be a real Bat-man. I think they should add this power to his abilities.

The batcave was always there. It was just a big cave Bruce Wayne found one day (I'm assuming near his house). How he got all of that stuff into his cave, I don't know. We've already seen that Batman has a teleporter that he himself built. Maybe he's had it for a while and that is what he used.

I can't believe that I'm about to talk about BATMAN like he's a real person, but here goes:
He did it all himself. REMEMBER! His parents died when he was an adolescent boy. So I guess somewhere between then, and the roughly 30-35 year old man we know as Batman, he had all the time he needed to train, and build the batcave. It was a cave under his family's estate that he made the Batcave.
And with the huge companies he owns, he probably just swiped shit from there to build all the equipment he needs. If he buys it, and steals it from himself, then doesn't report it to the police, no one is inconvienenced.
Does this make sense?

I wonder why they never gave Batman the power to control, maybe bats?
Sunny, that does seem like a huge oversight, considering Bats are supposed to have remarkably superior hearing.. or is it sight? Or Both.
In addition to being generally frightening and rather creepy, .
Batman could use Bats - sort of the way Aquaman used Sharks , or Whales..
These Hypothetical "Super" Bats could help with highly advanced sonar , so the Batcave's location wouldn't be detectable.
( I am still not sure how that Batcave was Renovated. It was probably already there..
Underneath Wayne's estate.
How it was eventually designed and constructed to become a Batcave, I don't know..
Maybe there is a missing episode of Trading Spaces..
Where Batman gets his Cave painted and tiled, and he has to stencil Ivy on his neighbour's Kitchen walls.

By fatherly, do you mean they licked each others' pink things? 'Cause that's what they did.
It is true that it was jsut a cave that he stumbled upon, but I don't understand why you're so confused as to how he got all that stuff in there. He's a multibillionaire with his hand in every type of business, I'm betting everything in the batcave was designed off premesis as either a prototype that never got off the ground or a modification of an existing project that he cut funding to upon completion.
And how did it get back to the cave?

I don't think this is far fetched at all.
The cave itself is a natural formation, which he modified to suit his needs. As for access to the cave via his home, he probably hired a contractor to do the job and passed it off as an escape route in case of emergency. It is not unlikely for men of influence and wealth to install such getaways into thier home. No contractor would assume the guy is building an underground headquarters for fighting crime. Indeed, only the comic book fans and Batman's closest companions knew he even HAD a bat cave. Knowing nothing of comics and Batman, would YOU automatically assume any underground excavation was intended for that purpose?
As for the electronics and laboratory equipment, all of this could have been purchased through one of many Wayne Enterprises companies, delivered to his home and installed by Bruce himself. You will notice in the films that the electronics conform to the natural structure of the cave, a more likely occurence than the 60's version which is more like an excavated room.
As for the batmobile, this was explained in the comic book. Many companies were subcontracted to build various parts to be delivered and assembled by Bruce himself at Wayne Mansion. Each contractor was independent and unaware of each other and the ultimate project. This is commonly done throughout the manufacturing industry. Most companies recieve specs for parts and never find out thier ultimate purpose.
Not that far fetched, if you consider that Batman is a student of all knowledge with specializations in the fields of aerodynamics, physics, rocketry, criminal behavior, forensics, automotive design, aero & sub design, chemistry, martial arts, business, etc.
But then again, its only a comic book.

what its only a comic book??? now your crazy talking
All that work on the cave and the computers and the access to it from different parts of Wayne Manor...who the hell built the thing in the first place?
I only think there was atleast 2 entrances one in his bedroom and a secret road entrance procted by a bush and a crappy police baracade
The computers in the cave im pretty shure he god them down there peice by peice but also there are people who know about the cave
There was a episode of batman the animated seris witch had a epidode where a black guy Helped build the batmobil with bruce so i think they guy helped move in boxes and stuff
Bruce can pay to have anyones mouth shut pay more then any crimanal could
But how come Bruce wayne isnt always the tagert is a Rich Mofo why dont all the villians Always stick to him If i was a super villian i woudl bust into his house all the time stealling loot and searching the joint i woudl of found the cave and be like oh now that makes sencen
Another question to ask
did the batcave have plumbing-Think about it if hes in the cave working on somehtign then he feels the dump sweats whatr then he goes back to the house and Shoots his mud
or did he put a bathroom in the cave so then who buil the bathroom well i still say bruce is a smart guy and he has alot fo free time
most billionairs do

Okay, so the cave was already there, built by natural forces.
Bruce Wayne used a number of construction crews to build the Bat Cave, using various dummy Wayne corporations to cover the job. Dummy corporations inside of other dummy corporations - remember, he's a smart businessman.
He also hired construction crews from outside the U.S. They did the work by night and were blindfolded coming to and from the site. They were given some cover story about building a secret military installation.
All those big-ass servers were built by Bruce Wayne and Alfred.
The Boy Wonder did fuck-all, though .

Okey I think I've gotten a sufficient explanation of the construction of the Batcave. Seems somewhat plausible, although I still think that somehow word of it would leak out by someone who worked on it.but maybe not. Seems like someone would suspect something considering there are all those bat insignias everywhere.
But I still agree with Quinn that he should be able to control bats. Did he ever fight vampires and have to wrestle with the idea of becoming a vampire? That seems like an interesting sort of plotline, since he sort of is a vampire in a sense. Sort of.
And I still have a problem with all his funding. You would think that the SEC would investigate Wayne Enterprises and do an audit on all the money.I don't think he could keep everything in check.

alright here goes.
batman did everything in the cave himself. njdmoe is right, he had a lot of time and a lot of money to do it.
Elle Quinn, you bring up a good idea though. I wonder why they never gave Batman the power to maybe control bats? That seems like an obvious power that he would somehow develop in someway...i mean, then he would be a real Bat-man. I think they should add this power to his abilities.
no fucking way. he has no powers, he's just a rich guy with vengence on his mind, there is no way he should have magic powers. why would he? punisher didn't have special powers and he's a superhero (alright eventually they gave him some but i stopped reading by then)
batman should not control bats. period.
as for sheepy's inquiry, if he's in a cave he could probably just have an outhouse type deal where is crap just fell several stories down. it would be deep enough that there would be no smell or anything, and there would really be no point in needing to flush it. he could even throw the paperd down there, he'd be fine.

I have a question. There are actual bats in this cave, no? Why isn't everything covered in guano, aka bat turds. Alfred must spend twenty hours a day cleaning bat poop off the batmobile. Holy shit, batman!

Bruce Wayne made Alfed lick the guano off while wearing a dress.
And what would having the power to control bats possibly do? He'd have to fight crime at night in rural areas. And that's nowhere near as exciting as trying to figure out how to get off a giant penny that's about to be flipped.

You would think that the SEC would investigate Wayne Enterprises and do an audit on all the money.I don't think he could keep everything in check. If Wayne Enterprises is privately held, the SEC wouldn't investigate. I've never seen anything in the movies/comics that indicated that the company was public.
Even if it was, since Bruce is a billionaire, he could probably do it with his own money, but use the name of the company so that there was no problem.

The cave is naturally forming, as said before. There is only one way into the manor from the cave, and that is behind the grandfather clock. Any other entraces/exits are natually forming extensions of the cave.
Bruce discovered it in his youth when he fell into it, and was rescued by his father.
And it's not a misappropriation of funds if he establishes a home office. Then it is merely an extension of the corporation located within his premises.
